Where were the brown people?

Listen, just b/c i'm wondering where the truth in the movie was, does not make me insentive to the death of laci peterson. the murder of her and her son is something that has really affected the nation and i'm not blind to that. the brutality of it all is something that i can always find myself thinking about and i even saved some magazines with her on the cover just so i could never forget the incident.

now, while the movie is related to this event, it was not done with any real quality by the usa network, so i don't feel bad for criticizing it. if the producers wanted to put some truth in the movie they should have realized that laci was half-latina. rocha, thats a spanish last name. her father and siblings were hispanic, so as a mexican, i find it to be disturbing that something like that is overlooked constantly. if her father had been african-american, they sure as hell wouldn't have made him white.

this is just my opinion, so there is no need to chastize me or throw around aclu comments like the guy who started the previous thread.

What! You think a guy named Paul Vincent O'Connor can't play a latino--guess you never heard of the Irish-Mexican clans :-) Actually I imagine in Modesto, CA that the Hispanic culture is pretty well taken for granted as in "It's in There". Certainly Laci herself shows her heritage and I suppose they could have specifically cast someone who looked more like her--but after living in Texas for 16 year--I just accepted the actor, taking for granted his "ethnicity" from his name, without giving it a second though

I heard her father is Portuguese.

You people are dumb. You can be Hispanic and white at the same time. Not all Hispanic people are black/brown. Plenty are white. I have a Portuguese friend who is whiter than I am.
