Since I live 90mi from where Scott and Lacey lived, we probably had more coverage, but then again, this was a top news story across the nation for a year. Some of the questions are so absurd or maybe some people are so demented they wish to hear responses. It wasn't irony that Lacey and the unborn child were found in the same waters where Scott admitted to being (fishing) the same day that Lacey disappeared. It was not determined for certain whether Lacie was injured and began a one month premature birth, then murdered and body disposed in the bay. OR, they had an argument, in which she may have struck her head, and then Scott disposed of the body. OR, after Lacey having discovered the affair and a fight ensued, something happened and ultimately Lacey was dumped from the boat into the bay. Her body was not found until one week short of four months later! The baby's body was discovered first. All the natural deterioration that would occur to a body in that water for four months, plus other elements, the baby could have "fallen" out of the body. After all, her head was never found. That does not mean that Scott did something to cause that. It, also, could have been a normal trauma to the body exposed to these elements for such a long period of time.
This was such a traumatic story, not just for the families involved, but so, so, many that came to know them more intimately through the pre-trial, and finally the trial. It seems so unreal to this day. But then we know these things happen all too often. Wife-husband. Girlfriend-boyfriend. And, yes, random sick-o's. They are all SICK-O's!! My daughter actually met the couple at a party in Belmont, about 10mo before this happened. She also saw Scott after Lacey went "missing" and before Amber Frye went public. We could not believe that he could be involved--not until the girlfriend aspect came to light. Tragic! Tragic! and Pathetic! He didn't want what a divorce would cost him. Sorry to even be saying anything! But so many dumb questions out there!
