huh?

Did anyone see this at the French film fest in the UK? (Or anywhere else for that matter) Didn't make any sense to me . The film aunched straight into the whodunnit (or rather who is Larsan?) plot without the viewer really having any idea what the fuss was about. Listening to the audience coming out of the cinema, everyone was saying the same thing...what was it all about? It was as if we'd all missed the first 20 minutes of the film. Some funny sequences though..but not enough to hold anyone's interest. Did you have to have seen Mystere de la chambre jaune to have the foggiest what the significance of each little 'twist' was? Huh?

Does anyone know whether it is available with English Subtitles? I have just seen it on a plane, and it had subtitles, but on Amazon France it implies that the dvd does not have it.

I thought by the way that all was explained quite well at the beginning and end of the film!

Also, do you know whether there is an English subtitled version of the Chambre Jaune film??

reply

I bought both Chambre Jaune and Parfum from Amazon France
shortly after each came out and both had English subtitles
(even though that wasn't stated on the site).

That's interesting to know, I am always frustrated when viewing amazon fr hey never list any subtitles. I have always taken this to mean that French DVDs for whatever reason have no subtitles. I see that it is just Amazon Fr not being 100% helpful.

fnac.com is quite good at letting you know if there are subtitles present...
