Is pulp Fiction really an independent movie?

Technically yes. Pulp Fiction was made before Miramax's affiliation with Disney when they were still truly independent. Swingers and Clerks were released during the same period. Pulp Fiction did mark, however, the beginning of the end of Miramax as an independent production and distribution company. That's why they call Miramax "the house that Quentin built."
