I watched this movie again recently (yep you guessed it, Holloween special), and it reminded me that this was a forgotten gem.
At least for me.

I remember watching this in the theater and was scared by it and yet laughed and cried at the end.
It's a real horror film for kids.
Miles better than "Cars" which came out in the same year and I think that one's scored more than 7 on IMDb purely because of its Pixar movie.

Sure Monster House is not on Incredibles, or Wall E's level, but as a horror genre flick, I think this one deserves more praises.

Monster House is great I ranked it 9-10...its sick... I am 27 and saw it in theateres when it came out I was like 19 going on 20 and I loved it! Kids love it too man...I was shocked when I saw the 6.7 too! I just rewatched it on halloween this past Friday and it's still a Halloween classic! Check out Paranorman too dude pretty much as good and people consider it better...

I thought Paranorman was a genre classic as well.
Its claymation worked so well with the genre and story.
Sad to see it did mediocre box office in the states.
Just like Monster House...

Same goes with Coraline and Frankenweenie.
This horror for family genre really needs more love.
