Turning point (spoilers)

This film was a pretty average kid's Halloween movie, the sort of thing I could find on Cartoon Network on Halloween after school finished.
That is, right up until the part where they find the shrine in the basement to Constance, and find her cement-coated corpse. That was, in my opinion, the best part in this film.
I have a personal philosophy that every movie, no matter how bad, has at least one perfect moment in it, the one moment where everyone put their all into it, and for me, this was that moment.
They find the broken-looking sign and the eerie music picks up, they open the lock with that massive 'CLUNK', they creep in, they find the cemented corpse, they find the candles, the roses, the chocolates... and then they realise it. Nebbercracker never killed his wife... he loved her more than his own life.
This film is still just an average Halloween flick for kids, but for me personally, that one scene was a very well-made scene, with lots of effort put in to making it effective.
Anyone agree?

I thought the movie was pretty scary and well done and reminded me a lot of a Goosebumps or other 80s or 90s young adult horror.

That scene was a turning point if only because its where the story dips down. Until that scene, I really liked it, but then we find out the house is really his wife and the story becomes lame.

It would have been much better if the house was just a monster. Anyway, still a pretty good horror/halloween movie and I did like that scene with the cement-coated corpse. That was a creepy scene.
