haha, I don't think he's ugly at all. Many women here find him very very attractive. Sometimes It's not all about beauty itself. I mean, it's something that you can't describe, like it's not obvious. I don't know if i'm explaining :D
shareSure you are. Lots of times peoples choose all kind of ways and reasons to engage in something. A smart girl, much more mature than her age; over confident by some simple external signs of wealth and style; a grown up man not quite so emotionally evolved (remember his fascination with the Romanov slain girls pictures); their very personal, direct and sincere exchanges regardless of the indentities/jobs inconsequential lies, it's quite understandable they were very attractive characters for each other, especally for an intelligent, articulate, unsusually assertive girl. Obviously all of us were very dubious about his final motivations which at some point proved themselves to be very platonic for a rather inmature man...
Nothing so hard to understand nor digest except for the excepctionally clumsy handling of the defining scene.
