What was the point of wasting 25.99$ if...

They were just going to show it on tv anyway.

Well the dvd has plenty of bits that were edited out when they showed it on tv, see it's wikipedia entry for details.

So whocares if its uncut. It was still the same story. Man people were pretty angry when they saw that happen. Good thing I watch king of the hill, simpsons and south park but never have I seen anything like that.

yeah! it really annoys me when a movie i've paid for gets onto TV! it's like..DUDE! i just totally PAID for that - now people can see it for FREE??

i don't know how it works in dollar land, but in the UK, films are shown in the cinema, then they go to video/DVD, then they get shown on TV. it's how Hollywood gets richer and richer - make everyone pay thrice for everything.

reply

Wow, that much for the DVD?
I think I payed half of that and I got Super Troopers with it.

This is the main reason I believe this isn't a real movie. You don't see The Simpsons Movie cut up and shown when the season ends. This literally is a long episode.

reply

Showing it on TV I'm fine with, that's what movies do. They come out in theaters or direct to video and than will usually end up being shown on TV some time later. Cutting it up and advertising it as a new three part season ending spectacular episode is a cheat though. Just show it as "the world broadcast primer of Stewie Grifin: The Untold Story"

reply

ha. i agree w/ the OP. I had seen this years ago when it first came out, and i didn't remember anything about it. so i decide to buy it the other day, and as i'm watching it I realize i've seen it about 50 times on tv. whatta ripoff. my family guy season dvds are pretty much useless now too, since family guy is on tv at any given time now anyway on one of about 6 different channels.

It's been agreed the whole world stinks, so no one's taking showers anymore.

The movie is heavily edited when they just show the three episodes(movie=88min, combined 3 episodes=approx 66min).It still should cost less than $25.99 though.

reply

The DVD version also has comedic bookends to it with cut aways and whatnot that take up at least 10 additional minutes. I've never thought twice about my decision to buy the DVD.

reply

I paid $10 for it and I got an autograph on the cover from Lois (Alex Borstien)
