Not suitable for children?

I'm wondering just how unsuitable this would be for children. I mean, as the animation itself pointed out, Hansel and Gretel is essentially about cannibalism and a family so poor they want to abandon their own children - and most kids are fine with that story! There is a lot of taboo stuff going on here but the main characters take it all in their stride, and I'm wondering if the film's trying to make a point that kids are largely unfazed by the weirdness and cruelty in everyday life. 'Course, they're more than happy to dish out said weirdness and cruelty as well...

Either way, a fascinating film. So much death and devouring! Brrr...

I dunno... when I was a child I would have been bored to tears by this.

Then again, content is not what makes a movie for children imo.

personaly i wouldn't show this to my kids till they were 'bout 11.

I think the onscreen dismemberment of various characters would be too disturbing.
