Darcy's wish

Did santa ever say what Darcys(ryans sister)wish was? It was bugging me the whole movie. Somebody help me out.

reply

No I don't think they every did mention what her wish was. They should have though probably. That would have been nice.

reply

I guess that they thought what she wished for was irrelevant to the story.

Maybe she wished for Holly's wish to come true??

reply

Or, maybe she was wishing for a girlfriend for her brother, Ryan.

I think that they did it on purpose, not telling us what Darcy's wish was. Maybe they wanted us to use our imagination a little bit. I too think that she asked for a gilfriend for her brother, because after that Santa asked her "is that your brother? ok then" something like that.

Agreeing with the poster above---

Watching the movie as I type and I am positive she looked over at her brother
and then whispered to Santa for him to give her brother a girlfriend ;)

Merry Christmas!

That's what they were inferring ...

Darcy wanted a girlfriend for her brother ...

Plus, it would explain his comments about the snow globe that he picked up in Holly's room ... about not having seen one since he was a kid (or something like that) ...

And it also plays into the whole "when two hearts are ready" ... and Ryan's realization that his life / career had become so unfulfilling ...

The sad part is ... Hallmark runs two versions of the movie ... depending on the start time you either get the edited or unedited version ... The unedited version shows Doug talking to the guy that lives in Ryan's building and the "20 questions" scene starts in the car (as opposed in the edited version where Holly starts asking the questions outside the car when they've gotten back to her house) ... Last year, the unedited version was on at 11pm & 1am ... I don't know if they're even running that version this year ...
