did this film ever come out at the cinemas?

i was watching the dark on dvd the other day and saw a trailer for it, but it never said when it was released and whether it was in the cinemas or on dvd. anyone help?

i actually thought it looked ok, compare to some crap "horror" movies out there, but it was weird------- about six months ago i had a dream like that, set in an insane asylum/whatever it was and there was a fire and the spirits haunted the building. i woke up and i was really creeped out!!! spooky or what :P

is it actually any good?

It's alright for a really bored night in. Best not to think that this is something like 13 Ghosts or something. It's sort of a predictable horror that might be best to watch either alone or someone just as bored as you.
