Man, you guys lowered my expectations too much

Since every thread here is how bad the movie is, I was expecting Dark Ride levels of mediocrity. But it wasn't all that bad. Hell it wasn't even the worst movie I've seen this week (that 'honor' goes to The Brink), let alone "of all time" like a lot of you are saying. Maybe you should watch more movies. This was just a harmless B movie. It was paced well, had some decent makeup effects, and the main girl was cute as hell. I was more or less entertained throughout most of it, and that's really all you can hope for for a DTV movie. You guys are seemingly expecting it to be on the same level as Halloween or Dawn of the Dead or something, which is like expecting fine italian cuisine when you open a can of Chef Boy R Dee.

I'd give it a C, C+. Like I said, if you think this is the worst movie you've ever seen, well consider yourself lucky for not having been subjected to the hundreds of movies I've seen that are far, far worse.

THANK YOU! I am so glad I wasn't the only one who thought this. This wasn't the best movie in the world or anything, but it was a whole lot better than some of the movies I've seen this week. It beats "Coons! Night Of The Bandits Of The Night", which I watched right after this. If people really think this is the worst movie ever made, they obviously aren't watching enough movies, or they're only watching mainstream movies and not watching any low budget stuff.

To be honest, it broke pace with all the good horror movies yet wasn't bad enough to be bad that I actually want to buy it. It at least did different things, and had at least some level of self awareness that it wasn't great (the line at the beginning about being "those stupid kids" that walk in to an old creepy abandoned hospital). Also the cop makes me kind of wish his fictional movie series were real... Might be obvious by my signature that he's the one I liked the most out of the movie thanks to his one liners.

Unfortunately, people tend to have high expectations for horror movies, so even decent B movies can get overlooked as bad, which in turn actually might make it better for those who read that criticism first and find out after watching it's better than the hyperbole. It's hard to tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
