Took them long enough to announce this. They've been sitting on it for what, 3 years?

Broken Link.
I would love a REAL translation of Initial D. Even if this link was going to say something like, "Initial D, properly translated, in, English subtitles." Or, if it also includes a better English audio track, that makes it even better.
I prefer watching in the Original Japanese Version, with English Subs. Having to read during it, doesn't distract me at all. The Japanese actors seem to have more feeling, portray the actors better, and give a more overall sense of the "atmosphere" of Initial D.
I don't mind the TokyoPop versions, or "Tricked Out" version, when I just want it on as background noise, or don't feel like reading it, I will play the Tricked Out versions. Really, the only thing that I hate about the TokyoPop versions are the music. I can't even comprehend why they changed the music, that was just a stupid move on their part. It takes away from the atmosphere.

fixed link.
Not sure why the link wasn't taking me to the page before, it is the same link, but maybe it had something to do with the server.
But, this is such great news and my predictions were correct. Funimation is going to keep the original music, but, have a new English dub. Though, I have gotten fond of the characters that are in the TokyoPop version, but, guess it's something I will have to get over.
But, this is awesome new for Initial D fans. This is what TokyoPop should have done, but, no, apparently they wanted to "westernize" it, and failed in doing so. How do you go from Japanese pop, techno, etc, to hip-hop? It makes no sense. Though, they were probably banking on a lot of people being to lazy to read the subs, and just play the "Tricked Out" version, and not even know what they are missing.
Awesome,Ill still watch it in Japanese tho,so when can we expect it to be out?

Apparently, they're staring out with the Third Stage movie, and going from there.
My guess is they feel rereleasing the first two stages AGAIN may be redundant so they'll be saving them for later.
So far Im enjoying the Funimation Dub,its pretty good, altho the Gas station managers voice is Heie from Yu Yu Hakusho, hard to get use too, same with Kentas voice.
Still Im glad were getting it,cant wait to get the rest.
