love this movie!!

i love movies like this that have a really strong character arc/development. i love the whole thing but especially the dennis quaid angle.

you know there's an intangible element sometimes that you connect with, but you can't really put your finger on what it is, specifically. and this is one of those. i like the tiny quiet moments when dennis shows glimpses of his inner path. it kinda let's you inside his head a little. his thoughts about getting older, his fears about money and the future, etc.

of course all this is cleverly offset by the humor offered by topher grace. he's hilarious. the story is well paced and the acting/characters connect. but mainly i find the dennis quaid inner journey my favorite part of this movie

(but then, i always find dennis quaid nailing the inner parts of his characters in other films as well.)

I agree. Although, I didn't just appreciate Grace for being funny; I thought his performance was moving, too. And how great it was that he wasn't the kind of person you'd expect from the beginning, based on other movies with the same kind of setup. I expected a big fat cliché of a movie, and it wasn't. I liked it a LOT.
