When this movie came out, it was promoted as a gut buster comedy, starring one of those wacky '70's Show dudes, so naturally it disappoints that particular target demographic.

But Manhattan corporate types notwithstanding, I'd think this movie would strike a few relevant notes for anyone past their third decade who feels they have everything pretty much squared away. If you have a mortgage or a savings account currently earning 0.3% or even a health insurance policy that will cut you off at x dollars, you may be able to appreciate that life can go off the rails and how these characters develop and adapt.

I think this movie is a gem.

I actually was surprised to see so few posts on this message board. In Good Company is a terrific effort, for all involved.

Same here. It's almost a little bizarre. A generally very well received (critically and commercially), well grounded dramedy with a great cast, interesting story and there are so few threads.🐭

Saw the film last night, and I thought the acting was great by all, and while I could see where the plot was going I was disappointed in the ending. I was hoping that Alex and Carter would be a couple, especially after she basically seduced him and after he fell in love with her. What's not to like with Carter? Also, I didn't really get why Carter didn't accept the position offered by Alex's father. I thought this was a comedy, but the ending didn't play out as a comedy. It wasn't a waste of time, because of the acting, but. . . . . ..

I somewhat agree. I thought they will end up together as a couple because her father realizes what a great guy he is. I really didn't think the movie was that good, especially it running for almost two hours. I thought the screenplay was kind of weak.

Topher Grace thanked her father for all what he taught him. But I really didn't gat that satisfaction he actually learned something worthy from him. The movie really didn't have any regrets, lesson learned, karma, revenge or feel good story. I gave it a 5. Although I will say 5.5 if I could rate with halves.

I;m with dasanimet. It wasnt a BAD movie, but it wasnt a GREAT movie. Id also like to give it a 5.5, but imdb only allows 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10. SO I was stuck with going with a 5.

(Ps small spoilers, but if youre discussing the film I assume you seen it, still, warning if you havent)

I did not like the ending. It just seemed like they ran out of ideas and BOOM over. The ending was very underwhelming, and before that I had the movie a "7." A good-bad ending can make-break a film. The movie just seem to "end." I never felt really any closure. So what is he gonna do with his life? What about Scarletts character. Why is he all the sudden being called about the baby. (Yea he was a good man but I mean, now all the sudden theyre besties? Because he turned down the job?) Speaking of that, he was unemployed for awhile, how was he getting by? (trival I know, still).

Again the ending just made me like,"wtf that's it?"

It's better than people give it credit for. Though, it does annoy me how they seem to present The big boss as some sort of idiot when he's talking about globalization and integrating computer and tech focus into the magazine. There are a million different ways a sports magazine could do something with that. And yes, it does change how we do business. If the movie wanted to show how each perspective was too extreme, it sort of failed.

Also, wow, they purged a lot of threads here.
