Really? It looks pretty good. Plus I love Steve Buscemi.

I really liked it too. Not sure I'd call it the best ever, but it's quite charming. As someone who grew up in a small town and ventured away in search of my fortune, I really related to it.

looks great!

I absolutely loved it. I thought everyone's performances were great, especially Casey's. And the script was fantastic. I should own it pretty soon.

I honestly believe I'm destined for great things, Mr. James.

Definitely one of the best independent American films released in the 21st century.

Definitely one of the most realistic American films focused on family relations ever released.

And more proof that the Academy Awards people are least qualified and intelligent people to judge films.

Steve Buscemi will never surpass this film, and I dare say that Casey Affleck's performance in this film eclipsed his portrayal as Robert Ford.

The acting by the main cast represents what acting is supposed to be, the technical direction represents what direction should be, the realism of the plot represents what independent films should exude but rarely do.

10/10

********SPOILERS***********This film really surprised me. The first time I watched it, I was like ,"hmmm, yea..not bad...funny AND endearing...I give it a solid 7.5". Then a few days later there was nothing on t.v., so I decided to watch "Jim" again. I sat here and laughed out loud at almost every scene. The friend that viewed it with me the first time had enjoyed it too, so I called him and told him I was watching it again, and that it was making me laugh to the point he had a hard time even making out what I was saying, so he turned on his t.v. and started watching it with me, via telephone. We both literally laughed to tears for the rest of the movie. It was the strangest thing, really. It's like-you either get it or you don't, and the first time I watched it, I didn't get it. Not all of it anyway. It is nothing less than genius, and as original a film you'll ever find. And what about that hospital sex scene? ;) My guess is it's the shortest sex scene of all time. Even quicker than Mrs.Hood and Mr.Carver's in "The Ice Storm'.
I now give this film a solid 10, even with all the goofs. It seems strange to me that this movie got such bad comments on the message board. What it all boils down to is that this film is a comedy. The only drama that played out was there to for the viewer to 'read between the lines', and make the humor even more appreciated,( when you 'get it' )and that's why there are so many negative reactions to the film. Buscemi wasn't concerned with having it all 'make sense'. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously- at all. Effin'-A-right it was jaw droopingly impressive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might as well enjoy my life and watch the stars play...........
