Amazing Martial arts film BUT..

The movie is a three-person drama, and the looming war is just backdrop and has nothing to do with the story.

I agree, the ending was dissapointing and kept the film from true greatness in my eyes, i was fine with it just focusing on the three characters, but I dont like the way they did it. (SPOILERS) for me a better ending would have been for (cant remember his name the guy he loved) to never return in my eyes. I think that would have been more powerful for me, him going on not knowing that she had decided to come with him, nor that she was killed. Him coming back was a bit too much for me. Also this would have gotten rid of the final battle which i thought was a tad weak, the snow didnt work, especially since the airborne snow seemed largely cgi and the fight itself was the least excitubg fight in the film, otherwise great!
