What are some other movies like this? Set in feudal Japan, assassin/ninja driven.

Red Shadow
Lady Snowblood
Shogun Assassin
Twilight Samurai
Legend of Eight Samurai

...to name a few.

A couple of Korean movies;

Jong-Hoon Park movies:

Nowhere to Hide
Duelist

Chan Park-Wook movies:

Oldboy

Seung-wan Ryoo movies:

City of Violence (kind of Anime'ish tho it has its influence from the Warriors and martial arts movies the most. Still, an amazing flick).

US movies;

Quentin Tarantino:

Kill Bill vol.1 (vol.2 is mostly spaghetti western and pulp)

So far only these come to mind, the rest has been already mentioned.

Also, everyone should see Afro Samurai and Afro Samurai Ressurection.

Try to see it uncut in HD (BluRays available) as the episodic versions are censored on content and explicity.

A Japanese/USA anime which fuses blaxploitation, spaghetti western and anime genres.

oldboy is nothing like Azumi. there is hardly any fighting. a lot of weird imagery and an old man sexing up his daughter, but not much fighting.

uh. Versus? Death Trance? they doesn't have the feudal theme, but they definitely got samurai thing going. Just modernized.
