In The Literature They're Called Buses...

A point was made in the movie that Kentucky Fried Chicken establishments are called "KFC restaurants" in the literature. How about the other non-human major cast member, the humble Volkswagen Type 2 (1964 or later: large rear window, oval front turn signals, ...)? In the literature it is referred to officially as a microbus, but I think it is acceptable shorten it to 'bus. And what a beautiful specimen starred in Around The Bend! It is a fully restored classic compared with the 1964 Camper 'bus I've owned since 1977. A script editor might have consulted an enthusiast to avoid the common mistake of referring to this vehicle as a "van".
