The Conjuring is about the Warrens. I look at that as a pseudo sequel to The Amityville Horror because of the Warrens casefiles. I know all paranormal investigators are deluded and/or charlatans but it makes good entertainment.

I thought the Warrens went in there and found nothing.

No. The Warren's went in and found demons. Lorraine actually collapsed on the stairs and refused to even go in again. During their search they also captured the famous ghost boy on film. You can Google it and this is seen in The Conjuring 2. You can read about this on their site Warrens.net
