So I think I figured out at the end that George was the same kid that killed his family when he was a teenager. He went to an institution for some years, and when he came out he married Kathy.

Is that correct or am I off base?

Way off. The killing only happened one year before George and his family moved in.

Next time, pay attention. This was supposedly a real story. Ronald DeFeo really did kill his family in that house. The rest with George Lutz is up to the viewer whether the house was really haunted or not.

i don't know how in the FCUCK you thought defeo and lutz were the same person when the movie clearly shows they're different people.

do you even pay attention when watching movies?
