Edward D. Wood Jr.

reply

On the Bravo site it said it was a horror movie with Heidi Fleiss. so this must be it!

Good, Jordan ticked me off on the show.

I don't know. HOWEVER! This movie had armless knife-throwing women in it. And a bad actress in a car.

Leah, good news! We have these "Bring-a-Friend" passes for Carowinds so that both you and Jessica can simultaneously come to Carowinds with us sometime for $21.95 apiece(<--"How much are they for one apiece?") instead of the usual $40 or whatever it is. I know it's not exactly cheap, but it's at least a pretty good discount.

So, when could you come? Jessica, you too. Is next week plausible at all? Let me know! Leah, when do you have to be back for work on Wednesday?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

They've been just telling me to work dayshift everyday this week. I'll see which day they give me off next week and let you know Sunday night? Monday? Somewhere around then. What about Friday before Fantastic 4 maybe? I dunno.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

For the record, Fantastic Four is the Friday after the next time Friday happens, the 15th. I just found out we'll have to go to Carowinds the week of the 18th through the 22nd because Donnie will be at camp, and we'll actually have enough seatbelts in the car. Sorry if this has messed you up.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Doesn't mess me up at all. Is any day the 18th-22nd good? I'm excited!!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Yep. The deal is good for any weekday. I hope Jessica reads that message sometime soon.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I am reading it soon. I mean...I read it and it seems soon...er....anyways...I believe that any time in that time span is fine for me. I just found out that I'm going to the beach and Disney this year!! I hope. *crosses fingers* I've never been to Disney! I can't wait to get to hang out with you guys. It seems like forever since we have :(
"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Mom says, "Well, Monday is always good."

By the way, Jessica, can you give your mom my sincere thanks for letting you stay to finish the shirts? Thanks.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Why did you delete all our posts?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Wait. Why did who delete all our posts? I get confused with our three selves all being the same. lol. I meant to get in touch with you today Leah, but we were working the entire day and got home at 9:30 (not to mention that I still hadn't had a shower or supper by that time. Blech! Stinky and Hungry.) so I figured it was too late to call back. Sorry 'bout that. :(

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I deleted all our posts because some of them contained references to local places and stuff that could allow stalkers to triangulate our position. It's just best to keep as little specific information off of here as possible. It may seem a little paranoid, but you can thank me when a stalker doesn't show up at your house/apartment/igloo or whatever you guys happen to live in. :)

By the way, this is HappyTree.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Okay, sounds good. Thanks in advance. :-)

And don't worry about it Jess.

See you guys Friday!!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

It's so funny that we can't always tell who each other are.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

There's a 2:30 show of FF: ROTSS on Friday. You guys wanna go to that one?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I'm down.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

And you are...?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Right now I'm watching my very first episode of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. OH MY GOSH! It's downright freakin' HILARIOUS! It's like a joke or something. Hard to believe it's actually supposed to be not a comedy. Wow.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

The down one was Leah. Who is me. :-) I'm down.

I think that afterwards if you guys don't have anything to do, we should go skating!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Skating...at our skating rink? That's a long way away from the theatre. I'm pretty sure the theatre in town isn't gonna be showing it.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

It said something about Transformers being next. I didn't catch what the other next movie thing was.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I think they just got Surf's Up pretty recently, so that'll probably still be there.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Very true

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Oh alright. So... where are we going?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I don't want to mention the name of the actual town (those darn stalkers), so I'll just say: Where we went to see Casino Royale. If we go to the 2:30 show, we'll only have to pay the matinee price instead of the 4:00 and after price.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Good news, guys. I've been working on the superhero picture, and now everyone actually looks a little bit like themselves. Especially you, Leah. You're a spitting image of yourself now. Jessica, you don't look quite like yourself, but if I erase your eyes one more time, I'm gonna make a hole in the paper. William still doesn't look exactly like himself, but I just don't know how to fix that boy. :-) Oh well; it does look a lot better than it did. I can't wait to show you guys on Friday!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Awesome!! Do I need to drive us tomorrow, or is your family going too (Happy Tree). Well, now that I mention it, who all IS going? I just thought of something! It may be kinda late now, but for future use...Happy Tree, I have a book about how to draw comic book characters!! I fogot all about it until I saw this paper where I was trying to draw this hand and I said to myself, "That book would have come in handy then." and I thought of it.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

You don't need to drive us, Jess. My family's going, so we'll have enough room in the car for everyone. Other than that, no one else is coming. Maybe we should meet at my house at like 1:00. That way we won't be cutting it close at all. It'll also give Leah a chance to change into her shirt. Make sure you don't forget about the shirts! When you guys read this, could you just give me a 10-4 or something (preferably before 11:00 at night(-:), so I know we're all on the same page? Thanks! HappyTree out.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

10-4 Also, are we wearing jeans with the shirts (so we'll all match)? -Big J

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Jeans are good, but please identify yourself. :-)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I know its after 11:00 at night, but I just got home, sorry.

1:00 sounds awesome. I'll be there. 10-4 and stuff.

I think it'd be good if we all wore jeans. Good thinking Jess. Oh, wouldn't that be cool if we had our skirts and boots? lol.

*Lee-uhh*

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Good! We coordinated this whole thing without anyone having to call anyone. I wonder how many pages this thread is gonna have by the end of the summer. If anyone reads this before you leave, could you bring your camera?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Had fun today!!

~Lee-uhh

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

So what do you guys want to wear? (On monday.) I think we should all match. I don't know. The more I think about it, the more I think maybe we should wear the superhero shirts. If there is some kind of disaster, we can always do a repair job. I still have all the stencils. I'm just thinking it would make for some really good pictures, like when we're on the roller coasters and stuff. What do you think?

-HT

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

HTree, If there was a 'Pictures 1' email, I didn't get it.

And sure, as long as its fine with Jess. Just whatever you guys want. :-)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Could you check again, because we were having trouble sending those emails, but Dad tried again, and I think the last one finally got sent. Let me know if it's still not there, though.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Got all of them! Thankyou!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Oh. Good!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I have two links for you guys that may be the answer to our college problems.

For Leah: http://www.bio.unc.edu/, and

For Jessica: http://rla.unc.edu/Collections/index.html

I know it's not particularly close to home, but Christie's mom had nothing but good things to say about it. They also have astrophysics for me. :-)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

About Monday...I CAN for sure go. Although it would be better for me to go some other day this week because Mom has Monday off and it woud be nice (for her) if I could stay and help. HOWEVER, Monday is still perfectly alright, especially since Lee-uh has taken that day off. About the shirts: the only thing I was really concerned with was getting something on them (chili, slushy, someone's gum, vomit...) that wouldn't come off. It's still awfully tempting to wear them...lol

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Okay...first of all, I offer my sincere apologies to Leah if this causes some big hassle for her, but I don't think Monday's going to work out. *Wince* Both the cabinet guys and the electrician are coming to our house. I know you've already asked for Monday off, Leah, and I'm really sorry, but what about Thursday? We'll still get the same deal on the tickets. Does that work for either of you guys?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

You can disregard that last message of mine. I didn't know it when I posted it, but Mom's going to Boone and the vet tomorrow so she doesn't need me anyways. Don't schedule anything around ME for sure, because that would make me feel like someone else we all know (Happy Tree's vacation). NOW it looks like any day this week is perfectly fine. Whatever works for everyone :-)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

What do you mean "(Happy Tree's vacation?)" I didn't get that. I'll try to work something out and get back to you guys real soon. We're having a sort of scheduling crisis at work already, so hopefully I'll get that worked out tomorrow.

ttyl! Lee-uhh

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

My mom mentioned something about Janie's Mom saying that they had to schedule their vacation around JA and that it didn't work out well or something like that. On another note: My cat's going to the vet tomorrow because he now has a small piece of bone or cartilage protruding from his side and is leaking infection everywhere. I hope and pray that it's nothing too serious and that he will finally heal and get better.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Ah, I see.

Too bad shes at Gov school now. Shucks darnit. :-)

...I'm not being too mean, am I? Well, WE. WE aren't being to mean, are we?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I'm still not sure. She's been okay the past couple of times I've talked to her but...who knows??

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Yeah, sometimes I feel a little bit bad about the bashing we give her all the time, but if you think about it, it's sort of well-deserved. I don't think we're terrible people. Besides, we're not saying it to her face...
unfortunately. :-)

Also, Jess, did you see the UNC thing? They have archeaology. I've done some research, and it all just sounds so good. Apparently the campus is beautiful, everyone is nice and helpful, and it's easy to get there and back again by bus, plus a whole lot of other stuff. It would be easier to get into than WF, and in February it was voted the best value in public universities for the sixth consecutive time. Of course, come to think of it, you probably know all this already, but let me know your thoughts on it. Leah and I were talking about it, and we've never really seriously considered UNC, but the more I think about it, the better I feel.

HT

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

K, here's the deal. I asked for today off, but they didn't give it to me. Then they realized that I needed today off (I didn't get a chance to call and negotiate for Thursday instead.) So Ben called and asked if I wanted to go out and do something tonight. I said sure, but then I said that nah, I'd just work today and ask for Thurs off instead. He said no, that I can't do that because I'm going out with him tonight. I was like, "No, Ben! You don't understand! I REALLY need Thursday off. Something came up, and I just really need that day off." (I'm not gonna tell him we're going to Carowinds, just that something came up, lol.) He said well, thats fine, he's supposed to work 1-8 on Thursday, and he said he'd just close for me, too. :-)

So tomorrow when I work, I'm gonna ask them about and see if thats okay. And apologize, lol. These last 3 weeks I have been arguing with them about my schedule. Plus the fact that I'm going to be gone to church camp all next week... lol. I'm gonna tell them that in July I can probably work more and be more flexible, just that these last 3 weeks have been kinda crazy. Hopefully they'll work with me more. After all, they did hire the girl who did drugs at work back. So why not work with me? (The best darn carhop ever!)

Its probably a yes, I'm just making sure tomorrow. Dad wants me to quit and get a job somewhere else. He hates my place of employment cause they don't really treat their employees the way they should.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I haven't got a chance to look at the UNC thing yet, but am I wrong in thinking that they didn't have much of a program for film-making? So......tomorrow? Is the Carowinds trip a go for tomorrow? Have we decided as to what we're going to wear? What are we going to bring (picnic lunch in the car?)? Are you wondering how many more questions I'm going to ask by the end of this post? LOL.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Okay...answers to all the questions:

Yes, we are going tomorrow.

You're right, there's little to nothing in filmmaking, as far as I can tell.

I'm thinking we're going to wear the shirts, unless you really just don't want to. Also, if you want, you can wear your bathing suit under your clothes (it would probably be most convenient that way), or you can leave it in the car. We'll be going out to the car before we go to the waterpark, so you can grab it then if you prefer.

Leah, we'll be at your house around 7:30am; Jessica, 8:00am. That way we can get into the park ten minutes early and get in line before the crowd.

We will be eating in the park, so bring extra money for that.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Guess what?! There are 3, count 'em, 3 Venture Crews based in Chapel Hill. Wouldn't that be cool if we could join one?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I was just braiding my hair and I thought of something. HT: in the super hero picture, what if my hair was braided (like one solid plait)? I braid my hair alot and I just thought it'd be something different.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

No problem, if that's what you want. It would look fine.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I hope everyone hasn't already went to bed or stopped checking. What are we wearing OTHER than our shirts? I think shorts are a good idea considering that it will probably be hot. Do you all by chance have black shorts? And what about footwear? Sandals? I have a pair that have straps so they won't fall off on rides. -BJ

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I know its late, and my late usage is a bit inconvient, but I figured I'd reply anyway. I'm wearing my bathing suit, then my superhero shirt, and some short black swimmy shorts over my bathing suit bottoms. And black flipflops. I don't have a kind with straps, but I have no problem just taking them off while I ride.

I'm stoked!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I'm bad for late usage too. I just hope HT gets this in time to dress to sorta match. Also, I was thinking it might be a good idea to bring a change of underwear(s) so after the water park, maybe we could find a place to change so we don't have to wear our wet bathing suits the whole rest of the time.

Edit: Everything about getting ready has sorta fallen apart. My good pair of black shorts are too small and the only other pair I can find only have one pocket, so unless Caleb shows up to tell me bye in the morning and brings me the board shorts he was going to get me, I don't have any. I can't find my strappy black sandals, and I don't have black flip-flops. Plus, the shirt is just long enough to look ridiculous with a belt, eliminating any belt-attachable pouches I might wear in leu of pockets. I don't mean to complain but...Och!! The rotten luck of it....lol

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

It also says in the rules that "sandals or flipflops are not allowed on some atttractions." Should we even wear them?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Everything worked out okay. I put some stuff together and managed. I'm probably going to wear tennis shoes though.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

My bathing suit is broken on the right strap. Could one of you bring a safety pin if you have one? I'm trying to find one, but you know what Zeb and Holloman (sp?) say, "Whenever you don't want a safety pin, you find one, but when you need one, there isn't one around anywhere."

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Sure, lol.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Found one, but I will definitely need your help pinning it up, lol. I think it was getting kinda shabby, and then to top it all off, my cousin pulled it off me during dinner one night in Texas, so yeh, lol.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

This may sound stupid, but Jessica, did they wear bonnets in the Old West, or is that some kind of anachronism? I'm not really up to date on my 1800's fashion trends. :-)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Yes, they did have bonnets, but they didn't look like this: http://www.clicket.com/images/11-163.jpg They weren't nearly that corny. They looked more like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Primitive-Early-Shaker-1700s-Style-Bonnet-Red-Tan-ZNE_W0QQitemZ130127003201QQihZ003QQcategoryZ1217QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Oh, well. Mine's more on the cheesy side. I asked because I found this awesome dress today at Goodwill that just happens to match the bonnet that I've had for years but never really used, and I thought it would be a good Tweetsie outfit. Thanks for the pix, though!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I just thought of something. The dress (without the bonnet), combined with that underskirt thingy that Mom made looks just like it could be one of Sophie's casual costumes from the Illusionist. I know that's a bit late for the Old West, but I might be able to get away with it. It's a perfect Sophie costume, though. Too bad Sophie was played by Jessica Biel.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Does it look a bit like a dancers dress? I think I might have seen it.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I'm gone till Friday! Be back then.

HT, could you get your Mom to call my Mom about that class? I forgot to ask her about it and I won't see her again till Friday. Shes home Monday and Tuesday after 6:30, Wed after 1:30, Thurs after 6:30, all day Fri, Sat, and Sun.

See you guys later!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Okay, I'm assuming that was Leah, but if she's gone, Jessica, could you just confirm that it was Leah?

And as far as the dress goes, it could have been a dance costume, I guess. It does have a zipper in addition to a ton of little fake pearls that button up the back. The blouse part of it is cream color, and the skirt is light blue.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Yup. That was the one! A good choice. I actually thought about buying that one myself, but I have recently acquired a suitcase of squaredance dresses. :D The last post that was not you, HT, was Leah. This is BJ.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Okie dokie. Thanks! I just thought it was so funny that she said she'd be gone until Friday and to call her mom without telling me who she was. :-)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Check this out!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIt-sv6zQZY&mode=related&search=

And this!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGaHsBxeBfM

We should choreograph something with one of the easier songs, but, you know, of course it wouldn't be nearly that complex. :-) (I know, I always end with a smiley face.)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

OMG!!!! WOWZA!!!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Lol. You replied while I was editing.

Man, every time I post just a few minutes after someone, they just happen to leave and not re-check.

Well, I'm off to see if the stars are out, which they're probably not. I did find the binoculars, though.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

This is still HT. Good news. I saw a dog today. : ) Just kidding. Actually, I downloaded the Speed Over Beethoven song and printed off the step chart, so now I can play/choreograph at home.

I think this Saturday we should go to the place that has the DDR that's not the movie theatre (I know that sounds stupid, but I don't want to give away our location). That way we can practice for free. Heck, we could even make it so that we could do the song in two shifts of two people. How awesome would that be?!

EDIT: Donnie and I have been choreographing our own dance to the song. I took some of that blue painting tape and marked off a makeshift DDR, complete with two sides, and Donnie and I have about 35 seconds of the song down. It looks so darn cool! (Well, at least I think it does.)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Still me; guess what! I went to the m&m's website and made m&m characters of all of us. I'm going to email the compilation to you (keep in mind it probably won't work the first time I try). The bottom left picture is my character, and both of you are in the photo-type picture. And yes, that is a winged ninja sparring with a giant humming bird.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Jess, Mom left a message on your phone about that Bible class. We're thinking of having a preview of it on Sunday if that fits in your schedule. We already know Leah can come.

Oh yeah, I made m&m characters of Frodo, Aragorn, Gimli, Gandalf, Arwen, Legolas, and Galadriel. They look so funny.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Hellooo! Anybody?

Golly; I've been having a conversation with myself for two days.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Bad news. This Saturday I'm for sure working at the antique mall and Sunday we're working on the building. With all the rain we've been having, it's been difficult to work around it and Sunday is the first rain-free day we'll have in almost a week.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Dad wants to know if Sunday morning, he, Donnie, and I could like come over and help you guys put up the shed. We could do more than just handing you screws. : ) That way, we could make more progress and maybe you guys could come that evening to the public explanation of the class. Also, Saturday: when does the Antique Mall close? 'Cause T--I mean you know where (DDR) doesn't open until 8:00 and doesn't close until 11:00. Are you really gonna be in Boone that late?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

The place that isn't the movie theatre that has DDR sounds like a GREAT idea! I hope you can come Jess!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Lol. That sounds so funny. I'm glad you can come, Leah! Today Donnie and I discovered that we had skipped an entire measure in our routine. We've corrected it, but we've sort of hit a rough spot. Hopefully we'll have mastered it by tomorrow night.

Also, I was looking for my, um, DDR ID last night, and when I found it, I realized that if I covered the sides of my hair so that only my bangs were visible, it looked like some weird combination of Donnie and me. I'll show you tomorrow.

You know what's funny? When I was looking for my ID card, I was like, "Well, it should be in here. I would have put it in here, but hey, what do I know? I'm only the one who put it wherever it is in the first place." I thought it was interesting that I was wrong about where I put it; actually, my first two guesses were wrong, but I'm the one who put it away. Wow; that sounds really confusing, but do you kind of get what I mean? It's sort of odd how people can lose things when they're actually just right where they put them last.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Mom was going to call, but she had to get ready for a town meeting tonight. After I talked to her about it, she said, "We won't be in Boone all day. If they want to do something that evening it's fine." So it looks like I'm going to be able to after all! She been keeping me on such a tight regimen of work, I wasn't sure if we weren't going to do something else work-related after the antique mall. LOL. Anyways, she said that we should be able to get what we need to do on Sunday done by ourselves (we can't do but so much until we have to make some decisions about where we want to go next with it) and that we'll try to make it since it's going to be in the evening when we'll be stopping for the day anyway. The only thing about it is that she can't stay too awful late, because she has to go to work at 3AM the next morning. See you guys tomorrow!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Is 7:00 pm on Sunday okay (for both of you guys)? We can change it if it's too early/late for either of you.

Also, (man, I say 'also' a lot) do you want to meet at the Teen Center (good grief, that sounds lame) at 8:00 tomorrow night?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Sounds grand to me!! -BJ

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Mom and Dad say, "Are you sure we can't help? We'd love to."

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Mom says thank you, but we'll more than manage, providing it doesn't rain. It's really very thoughtful of you though.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Okie doke. See you on the morrow!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

How early do you think we could do it on Sunday?

Mom says that I can't go anywhere today cause I've been gone the past week to camp and I slept over at the church yesterday. I'll try to work on her, but she said that I could go to the sleepover at church as long as I don't go anywhere today. I totally forgot about DDR. I'll give you the list with all teh details on it later, but here's the best place to start:

There are some other sites as well, but these are the best to get started with.

For future reference, if you tag your url's with [ url ] and [ /url ] (it doesn't have to be bold or have extra spaces between the brackets and letters. I had to add extra spaces so that it wouldn't consider the word "and" a link), your links will become clickable. I went ahead and did it for you on your last two posts with websites. Yeah, we can drop it by tomorrow. Mom noticed after you guys left, and I was like, "Wait, I'll call her cell phone," only to realize first that your cell phone might be in your purse and second that your number had changed. Fortunately, whoever has your old number was busy when I called. : )

Leah, this is HT. Mom just wanted to say:

I felt sorta yucky after I talked to you on the phone like I had pressured you. That is the last thing I wanted to do. Forgive me.
If you still want to give it a try, we'll let you know when the first session is. It might not even be until August, so who knows, it might be more convenient/possible for you then.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Tell her not to feel bad at all. She told me that you guys loved me and why you wanted me to take the class.

If I sounded pressured or or like I didn't wanna talk about it, its because I spent the whole afternoon with my grandma and so I was late to youth group, where I am supposed to be heading up a skit. Church was starting in like, 1 minute and I was doing sound and Jacob and the music minister were looking at me like, "Are you ready yet?" and Jacob was like, "Umm, you are gonna get off the phone during service, aren't you?" Cause I had been talking to various people for about 30 minutes while I was supposed to be doing soundcheck, lol. But its all good. They told me they loved me and thats why they pick on me so much.

I do still wanna give it a try, so yeah, please tell me when the first session is.

Is Caleb taking it? And James? Who all is? Sydney heard tale of it and started talking to me about it, too.

[Begin Patriotic rambling] Happy Independence Day! The daily quote today on IMDb was from 1776, the musical about, well, 1776. You know, independence and stuff. That's probably only the third daily quote I've ever known the answer to.

Today we all went to see Live Free or Die Hard. It was actually really good. It made me feel patriotic. As this old lady behind us said, some parts were a little far-fetched, but overall it was good.

You know, I took this "Which Marvel character are you?" quiz, and it said I was Captain America. Problem is, if you're patriotic, they automatically write you off as Captain America. That's okay, though; I don't mind Cap at all. My next two results were Scott and Spidey, but I can't remember which was first.

Today (I missed it, but I saw it advertised yesterday), on Fox News, the title of the Special Report with Brit Hume was "Is This a Great Country, or What?" I just thought that was nice. Fox is so refreshingly not left-slanted.

I love this country so darn much. [/End Patriotic rambling]

We're in Asheville again, crashing Dad's hotel room. We went to Carrabbas's (sp?) Italian Restaurant, and the hostess was Russian, and our waitress was Scottish.

Get this: I guessed at what the tip would be after we got the ticket, and I got it totally right, to the cent! Dad calculated the total on his phone (at this point I had already guessed in my head), and then I calculated the tip separately when he was done because I didn't feel like mentally subtracting, and I was like, "Oh my gosh!" I don't know if I subconsciously calculated it once I heard the price of the meals, or if it was just a lucky guess, but it was so awesome!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

All that sounded sort of confusing, but maybe we should do it some other time.

Today, I theatre-hopped for the first time. We (Mom, Donnie, and I)took a tour of Wake Forest in the morning 'cause Haley was at Volleyball Daycamp, and then when we were done, we wanted to go do something, so after we ate, we went to the Grand Theater. Since we had already seen most of the movies they were showing, we decided to see Evan Almighty, which really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. After the movie, we went to the restroom, and there were no employees manning the hallway when we went in, so they didn't know from which direction we came. Instead of leaving, we went straight from the restrooms to the screen showing Fantastic Four 2, and we watched the last hour of that, including the credits scene, which just basically shows that the Surfer doesn't die. At first, I was afraid we'd get caught, and every time someone behind us moved, I hoped it wasn't an employee coming to kick us out. : ) Speaking of the Surfer, they had a big shiny awesome life-size Silver Surfer in the lobby, surfing down a cardboard building. It was so cool! We all touched it.

Man, that theatre was crazy huge!! It was originally a K-Mart, and golly, was it spacious. The box office was huge, the lobby was huge, and they had enough concession stands to handle the mother of all crowds. Not only was there a giant long wall lined with concession stands, but they also had additional concessions on either wing. There was a party room, multiple water fountains, big restrooms, and an arcade, too. You guys have to go there sometime.

PS: Almost every time I try to type "guys," I end up typing "guts" instead by accident at first.

Oh, today Sydney called me and we talked for awhile. She said that Veggie was at home for a few days and that I should call her and talk to her. I told her that since Veggie doesn't really want to keep in touch with people from (wow, I just wrote the county we're from, and I forgot that this is the internet, lol.) keep in touch with people here and she hadn't called me so she obviously doesn't wanna hang out with me. Sydney was all, "Well, I don't think thats true." I told her that a lot of people were at odds with Veggie and she asked who and I was like, "Well, I dunno, shes just been really annoying me lately." She said that Veggie had been catching on and that it kinda hurts her feelings. I said that I didn't know that she had noticed. Syd said that Veggie will have to have friends in 3 weeks when she comes back and she doesn't want to see me and Veggie to quit being friends. I almost said, "Well, she shouldn't be so annoying and she should actually try to be our friend if she wants to be." but I know that everything I said on the phone to Syd has that chance of getting back to Veggie, so I really had to watch what I said. In spite of myself, I called her (after trying you guys a million times, lol) and left her a message, but she never called back. Called her house phone and she was taking Eli home, but would be back in a few minutes. Never called me back. And I asked Syd why she said that Veggie had noticed that people weren't being as friendly to her and she said that at prom Veggie felt really left out. Especially at Outback. She felt left out and a little unwanted. I was just like, "oh..." haha. Although I did feel bad for being rude to her that night. I know all that is probably almost unintelligible, but I don't feel like re-reading it or anything, so just overlook any run ons or anything. :-)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Oh, dear. I'm probably mostly to blame for her feeling left out and, um, unwanted at Outback, and good thinking with guarding your speech there with Sydney. I really don't know what to do about Veggie; I mean, I'm kinda glad she may be catching on. Maybe she'll clean up her act a bit; although I doubt that our estrangement will ever fully heal. I think maybe we should make some sort of list of complaints about her (the major stuff, at least), and then memorize it so we can be prepared if she ever confronts us about our somewhat distant treatment of her. That way we'll have something other than just telling her she's an annoying little brat. Oh gosh. That sounds like I hate her. I really don't; I just think she needs to do some serious soul searching and figure out where she stands. She cant keep straddling the line here. Oh boy, *cough*soap opera*cough*. I wonder how things will turn out with James. I think if he dumped her, instead of the other way around, it might be a real eye-opener for her.

By the way, Wake Forest was actually disappointing. The campus was really small and nothing spectacular, and you should have seen those freshman dorms. Holy penetentiary, Batman! They looked like prison cells. I looked online at the UNCCH ones, and they are miles better.

Let me know if I'm overdoing the Robin thing. : )

WOW!! Do you just type the colors like that to make the text that color? Sweet. I forgot to tell you, HT, that when Caleb was at the beach, he took a picture of the life size STATUE that they had of the Surfer!! Like...a 3D statue. I need to get that pic from him. He took it especially for you :-) As for all the stuff with Veggie...I just don't know anymore. It's like...bad mood swings or something. One minute, she's peaches and cream and wants to be your very best friend...the next she won't return your calls, get's cranky and crappy and rants about why everybody sucks...*sigh* I feel bad because I've kinda just tried to stay out of it anymore. I mean, I won't be seeing her at school or having to deal with her next year so...if she wants to hang out, that's fine, but if she doesn't that's fine too. I've accepted the fact that we're definatly not close anymore and haven't been for a long while. I try so hard to not say bad stuff about her because I feel like if she finds out, we'll lose that neutral ground and there'd be all this drama.
Ah well...we still have each other don't we? I love you guys! I don't hate her but...I just...love you guys! Does that make any sense?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Yeah, like, I don't really care that we are far from Veggie because I have you guys and you guys are great. As for the list HT, I think thats a good idea. Jess, I forgot that you don't have to have English or anything with her. English is the worst, lol. You probably wish I'd just let it go, but I can't. Sometimes I feel like I need to fix her and sometimes I feel like, "Quit being stupid!!" I agree with you HT in that it sounds like I really don't like her but

I just think she needs to do some serious soul searching and figure out where she stands. She cant keep straddling the line here.
But I probably should drop it for awhile, huh?

I can't wait to go look at UNCCH! I'm really excited. Does anyone have a tentative date yet?

reply

Good gravy, I wish we had a news intro like that (the first video, not the guy, lol). Thanks for unlocking the mystery of smiley faces for me; I always wanted to know how to make them. Could you put a bunch of useful smileys on one post so that I can copy down the codes?

Those engagement rings were pretty. I did like the one on the bottom, if it was in white gold, but I'm afraid it would be a bit too big. Oh yeah, I don't know if you're up for it, but I made a key code for Sindarin, so we can use it as a secret code for notes and stuff. Jess, I can make you a copy, too, if you want. I know you're not gonna be in school with us, but if there's a note you want to read, it might come in handy. Now believe me, it looks complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll notice it's an extremely logical way of writing. It's not impossible to guess a lot of letters by just knowing four or so. Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to; I just always sort of wanted to try it. That way, if a note ever fell into the wrong hands, no one could decode it. There's not even an easy way to decode it on the internet, since I made some improvements over the internet version.

I'm working on the date for the UNCCH visit. I've requested to go sit in on a class, but when we go, the tour won't start until 2:30; the class is in the morning. We're shooting for Monday the 16th, but you're supposed to make class sit in requests like ten business days ahead of time, so we might have to make some decisions once I find out when they can get me in. EDIT: I'm confirmed to sit in on their Physics and Astronomy class on Monday the 16th, but if that doesn't work for you guys, I can just sit in on that class on one day, and take a tour another day with you guys, but if Monday sounds good to both of you, I suggest you make a class request today for the 16th in whatever you want to sit in on, preferably a morning class happening from 9:45 to 11: 15. If you can't find a class that you want to see that fits into that time slot, let me know, and we can work something out.

You guys, I just made a breakthrough with my Ringwraith costume. It looks so cool. I think it would be great if all three of us were Ringwraiths for Halloween, and we could take pictures and label them "Nâzgirls." If you go on this webpage, http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Quick/Nazgul.htm, you can find some good suggestions. Basically, if you're ever in Goodwill, Ebenezer's, etc..., look for good stuff that could work as layers, like old black Halloween robes, black dresses, and the like. You'll also probably have to buy a queen size black sheet and pillowcase if you don't already have one you don't care about. As for the frame they say you need to make the hood stiff, I think two baseball caps (I've got plenty), one facing forward and one backward, will work just fine.

If you made a 3 or your SAT Writing score was 470-630, you get to skip English 100 at UNC, and if you made a 4 or a 5 or your SAT Writing Score was 640-680, you can skip English 101 too. If your SAT Writing score was 690 or above, you're exempt from English, at least as far as I can tell.

Mom just had a really funny idea. I could dress up as Scarecrow! I know I would need a guy's wig and a suit and suitcase, but I can do a freaky impression of his mouth, and when I wear fake glasses, I actually do look kind of like him, I think. Maybe I'm just crazy, but I think that's definitely who I want to dress up as. It's rumored that he's in The Dark Knight; I've seen some suspicious photos, but either way, there's really no one else I resemble more. Morgan Freeman maybe?

I had the funniest dream the other night! It was about Sonic (as most of my dreams/nightmares are now) lol. But you guys and some other people (I didn't recognize them, but they were superheros too) showed up and we all formed a circle and held hands and started running around in a circle until we got to going really really really fast. Then the momentum we had just kinda forced us into the air. So there we were, all random superheros holding hands while flying through the air. It was kinda like when those people skydive and they are holding hands and make a cirlce, only we were going up and spinning. lol, it was sooo funny! Then we landed and apparently it didn't really happen (in the dream) it was just something we had simulated on the computer and we thought would be a really good scene for a movie we were making. But it turned out to look kinda corny. haha.

We haven't checked the mail in awhile. But I'll look at those numbers again when I get my scores.

I'd like to get some better boots too, but I doubt I'll get them before then. -

Leah, that dream was the funniest thing I've come across in a good while. Oh my gosh it's hilarious!! It sounded awesome.

Jessica, I'm assuming Barbara Gordon is Lt. Gordon's wife? Anyway, I tried some demo Scarecrow makeup last night, and it was creepy. I think once you see it you'll think it's good. I think Catwoman is good for you, too. Thanks for looking for a good wig.

By the way, guys, we're starting the first session of the class tomorrow at one in the afternoon. You can bring whomever you please, Caleb, etc... I know you have to go on vacation soon, Jessica, and we can work around that, but let me know if you guys can come.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Check this out. Now before you watch it, let me preface. The guy in the cloak is not Batman; it's the Joker. Apparently they gave him that cloak on set so that his appearance could be kept as secret from the public as possible, but in the clip, you can see it fly back for a moment, revealing a purple suit, white face, and green hair. I think that's Christopher Nolan talking to him, too. It helps if you make it full screen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ebcIJz1XD0 Apparently footage of them shooting The Dark Knight is all over YouTube. At this rate, when I watch the movie, I'm gonna be like, "I saw them film that scene." I'm pretty sure Scarecrow is in that parking deck scene. Multiple people have footage of that.

I hope it's not too late, but guys, we're starting the first session of the class today at one o'clock! I already posted this earlier, but no one responded. Once again, Jessica, if you and your mom take the class, we will be able to work around your schedule, including your vacation. I hope I see you this afternoon.

Leah, how did that class/campus visit scheduling work out? Jessica, did you see that message about the campus visit? It was a while back. Anyway, Mom and I are going tomorrow, bright and early, and I was kind of wondering if any of it worked out for either of you guys.

I'm sorry!! I didn't get the message until now! We worked all day today anyways.... Ah well...-

We just watched a sad movie with the Eisenheim in it called The Painted Veil. Leah, we will be picking you up at 6:30 tomorrow morning, or by the time you read this, in about four hours. Rest up! Jessica, I hope you got my phone message. If you want to come too, just post something on here before 6:00 tomorrow morning, and we can pick you up too, or not, if you have to work on the Shed of Evil again. Btw, if you let me know what measurements you need for that dress (I figure when the shed is done, you won't know what to do ), I can email them to you. Once again, we will pay you for making the dress. Hope to hear from you soon!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

Sorry about not answering the phone. Mom was getting ready to go to bed and Caleb was leaving and we were just all too lazy to pick it up. What all are we doing at UNC? Maybe this has already been said but I forgot (I figured I'd be too busy to consider it, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow-no work on the shed ) And another thing-how are we dressing? Mom pretty much said it'd be a good idea for me to go (the more campuses and such that I see, the more idea I'll have of what I want to do). I didn't schedule a class to sit in on though. -

That's the thing about the way the universe proves the existence of God because everything, and I mean everything seems to be perfectly suited to benefit Earth, and Earth alone, when it comes to the cosmos. You don't have to read all 20 pages. The real info is just on the first 6.

Please tell your Mom that I am so so so so so sorry that that happened yesterday. Mom said that I never up and told her directly "OK. I'm definately going tomorrow." so she didn't wake me up. I assumed that she knew I was going, so I didn't leave her a note like I unusally do when she's asleep. Shows what happens when you assume . Tell me everything about UNC!! What was it like? It seems like everything you've asked me to do recently, somethings prevented me from doing it. I'm so sorry, and it's not you, and no, this usually doesn't happen so much as it has with you, but it's nothing you did or anything at all like that...just...bad luck! Whew. I just wanted to clarify that because I was afraid you might think I was coming up with excuses not to do stuff with you guys or something. It's at the community college, and technically it's a dinner theatre, but at the end of the month, they're doing the play by itself. It also has Stephanie Burke, Jacob Reeves, and Kaitlin Baird.

Today, when we were leaving Boone, Dad made the same mistake that Caleb did. He accelerated really quickly in that 35 mph zone that's right before the 45 mph zone; then he saw the actual speed limit. I so wanted to mention that Caleb did that too, but I didn't. But you should tell Caleb that Dad did the same thing he did. It might make him feel better. I mean, I know he's probably long over it, but if it was me, I wouldn't mind knowing that my friend's parent did the same thing.

Leah, you can find the essay topics for UNC here http://admissions.unc.edu/applying/essays.htm. Notice that the shorter essay is to be about 250 words, and the longer about 500 words. I suggest you open an essay you've written in the past and go to the Word Count tool. I did that with my Streetcar essay, which was about a page and two thirds, and it was 847 words! So heads up; they want really short essays.

Jessica, this is for when you get back. Also, notice that:

Transfer Students - Fall 2006 Class
Applied: 3,109
Admitted: 1,244
Enrolled: 883
That's about a third. That's a much better acceptance rate than non-transfer students. Also, I would like to point out that UNC will cover all of your demonstrated financial need. They'll give you 65% of that money as free money, and 35% of it as loans. Usually it's the other way around with other schools.

Don't kill me for saying this, but I'm debating over graduating early. I've really been thinking about it, and it really seems like a good idea. Like, it would be better to graduate early and take college classes then to take PJ 2 and Peer Tutoring and stuff. I know I said before that I'd never graduate early, but the more people I talk to about it, they say I definitely should. I just don't want to leave all you guys or be left out of knowing inside jokes and stuff (which I will be if I leave early.) On the other hand, since I'm not about to take Calculus and I don't really wanna take Physics, college classes at WCC might put me on the same level with the people who are taking those hard classes. I just really don't want to leave, cause it won't be the same. *sigh*

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I don't know what to say. I'm trying not to let Mom hear me crying right now, but I'm probably overreacting. Gosh, you'd think you'd died.

Don't feel guilty, it's just if you graduate early, you won't have to worry about missing inside jokes because there won't be any without you. Who would I have inside jokes with? You and Jessica are the only real friends I have, and if neither of you are there second semester, I don't know what I'll do. Why do you want to cut high school short? It'll be a painful enough parting in June. Do you really want to be ripped from your high school career half a year early?

Of course, maybe I'm being selfish. I guess it would be more fair for you to spend one semester at the high school and one semester at school with Jessica. Gosh, I'll miss you both so much. Do what you think will be best for you, but please, please think about it for a long time before you do something you're going to regret. It really won't be the same without you.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I want to be with both of you. And do whats best for me. But I have to not be selfish, too.

Man, the more I think about it, I would be jipping (jipping? gipping?) myself of a half a year of fun and stuff with you and in English class. You don't want to be selfish, and I don't either. I've just been considering.

Let me tell you my scheduling woes. I want to take a higher math class, but I don't want to take Calculus. So I was thinking Discreet Math. Which is offered when PJ 1 is, I think. And I'm not about to give up PJ 1. And I feel like I should take French 3, so I gave up Psychology or something to take that. Then, I had no 3rd period 2nd semester. So Mrs. Stone was just like, "Well, how about Peer Tutoring?" So I said okay. Then I had to give up another cyber class to take Anatomy, but thats okay, cause I really want to take that. Well, like I told Mrs. Stone, I don't really care about giving up those college classes because if I really wanted to take some, I could just take some night classes. That can go the same for second semester too, if I just really wanted to take some. Yeah! You know, if I decide its that important to "get ahead" or whatever, I could just do a night class or two. That sounds good, don't you think? That way I can do both if I want to. I'll try to explain that to Dad. (My Dad wants me to graduate early, but Mom understands about not wanting to leave friends.)

This is my schedule as of right now: none, PJ 1, English 4 honors, French 3. Anatomy, PJ 2, Peer Tutoring, English 4 AP. Wow, first semester is going to be really easy. lol.

Whats yours?

I really hope this doesn't make Jessica feel left out or anything...

On a lighter note, I had a dream about Jessica and Caleb getting married. It was, hands down, the most interesting wedding I've ever seen. Janie, our bridesmaids dresses were beautiful!! They were either light purple or white and they had little black flowers around the slit at the leg. But the wedding was Colonial/Renissance themed! Jessica had on this flag dress that you had made for her and Caleb (hahahaha) Caleb had on these poofy red pants with white stars on them. And a red and blue flaggy shirt.

Instead of walking with dignity to our seats like in normal weddings, we had a leader that was from the Renissance Faire and she got all the bridesmaids in a line and we skipped merrily around till we got to our seats. It was outside in this courtyard with a HUGE fountain. This is hillarious too: Jessica had hired Mr. Brooks as a kind of a wandering minstrel, only he didn't have an instrument. He had a huge easel and canvas he toted around! LOL. He was wearing the same poofy pants as Caleb, and he had a beret to match. It was great.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Good grief! I wish my dreams were as hilarious as yours! That was so great! As for my schedule, I'm actually not sure. I had the brilliant idea to write down those dates you could go to the school last night, and the Eagle's message got deleted like probably five days ago, so I might try today. Wait a second. Anatomy is first period? Great. I hope that's not the only time it's offered 'cause if it is, I'm not gonna be able to take it. I really want to go ahead and finish calculus here so I don't have to take it over again in college.

Eh, sorry for falling apart there last night, and for the record, if you did decide to graduate early, I wouldn't kill you. I would be extremely sad, but I wouldn't be angry. I did notice something, though. In your next to last post you said that the first semester would be easy. It seems like that would sort of tell you that you should be there second semester because it'll be more challenging.

What kinds of classes were/are you planning on taking at the community college? Are they really important?

We've all got to do something together when Jessica gets back. I'm leaving for Michigan on Wednesday, so I'm not sure if we'll be able to work it out, but I hope we can. I miss you guys.

In other news, you know that pale yellow dress that I really liked at Dillard's (the store) when we were coming back from UNC? Anyway, we were in Hanes Mall the other day, and I saw one hanging on the rack, so I showed it to Mom. She really liked it too, so I tried it on, and it just happened to fit perfectly! It was on sale, so we got it. Now all I have to do is hope that Tim and Sara get married so I can wear it somewhere. Tim is a guy who was in our little house thing the first time Donnie and I went to the Advanced Class in Florida. He would always give Donnie these weird looks whenever Donnie would do something, well, weird (you know Donnie), like the looks Mrs. McNeill used to give us. We met Sara his girlfriend there, and Mom originally thought she was deaf for some reason, so at first, when she was talking to her, Mom would always make sure she was looking right at her so Sara could read her lips, but she wasn't deaf! It wasn't too noticable, though. I didn't notice it until Mom actually told me. Anyway, they got engaged, and I hope they get married while it's still warm so I can wear that dress.

No idea about the classes at the Community College. I was just considering.

I went shopping with Syd today. At first it was a little awkward, but it got to be really fun. :-)

Well, unless you have some good classes that you know you want to take, I wouldn't write off the spring semester of high school for an "I was just considering."

As far as I know, Jess should be back tomorrow. The post where she said she was leaving the next day said Thursday.

The thing with Sydney, yeah, she's not as annoying as I thought. I guess if you're around her when VJ isn't there, she's actually not bad. Those couple of times she gave me a ride in her car, it really wasn't that awkward. She agrees about Spider-man 3 being disappointing.

Also, watch this after you read the rest of this paragraph. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uXRtsZSaT0 It's from the movie Premonition, which wasn't that great, but it did have funny bloopers, so just let it buffer and then skip the alternate ending 'cause there's nothing special there, but there is something you have to know about the last blooper. In the movie, Sandra Bullock is married to Dr. Doom, and he gets killed, or at least she has a "premonition" of him getting killed, so she tries to stop it, but in the end, she ends up causing it. The last blooper is from the end of the movie, right after he can't escape from his car which then proceeds to be hit by a truck and blow up in front of her. Now, when she had the premonition of his funeral, she demanded to look inside the coffin to make sure he was dead, and they tried to stop her, saying there was a "deep laceration," but the lid fell off, and his charred, severed head fell out. Also, there's another blooper with a dead bird. In the movie, Sandra falls on a dead bird, and it's all bloody and freaks her out, so she throws it away. I think that's about all you need to know to enjoy the bloopers, so...enjoy!

heh, thats cute. I didn't reply cause I knew I'd end up asking a question or two. But I don't want to know anything about it. I still haven't finished the 6th one again yet.

I do NOT wanna go back to school... lol. Class-wise, I guess it'll be okay (the only classes I have to do work in are English and French, and English is the only one I'm gonna have homework in.) but still... I'd rather not have to sit through long classes. Thats the worst part ever. I'm completely happy just chilling out, working, church, hanging out with friends when I can (now that summer's almost over, we won't be as busy, so I won't be getting as many hours, so I will get to hang out more.) We were in WalMart yesterday and Mom said I needed to go school supply shopping. I told her we didn't have to cause I wasn't going back. lol.

But I'm guessing once I get there it won't be so bad. :-)

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Well, I'm back. Michigan was very fun. We went swimming for hours on Friday and Saturday, and we played volleyball, and watched a movie, and yes, we played LotR Trivial Pursuit. Actually, that part was a bit on the disappointing side. When Uncle Chris was here, he made it sound like Raj (I guess that's how you spell his name?) was some kind of expert, but eh, well, that wasn't exactly the case. I ended up winning. It was still really fun, though. Whenever we'd have a dispute over the rules, Mom, Dad, and Aunt Mary would arbitrate, calling themselves "The Council." Whenever they'd come to a conclusion, Mary would say, "The Council has spoken." It was hilarious.

We also played this game that was like a cross between charades and Telephone/Gossip, but you had to act out movie titles. Everyone stood in a line, and the person at the back would receive the movie title and think about how to act it out. When they had it, they'd tap the person in front of them on the shoulder and they'd turn around so the first person could act it out for them, and then they'd try to replicate the motions for the next person, and so on. Then, when the last person had performed what they thought the motions were supposed to be, someone outside the line would try to guess what movie it was. The first time we tried, Raj was thinking about what to do and sort of patting his stomach, and Haley mistook it for him acting out a title, so she tapped me on the shoulder, and when it finally got down the line, no one knew what title it was supposed to be, and then someone, I think it was Emily, Raj's wife, was like, "That looks like Raj thinking about what to do," and we all cracked up. I know it doesn't sound that funny, but it was downright hilarious at the time. That's the hardest I've laughed in as long as I can remember, actually.

Sorry this post was so long. I hope we get to do something together soon!

I'm planning on calling you guys tomorrow, so please answer your phones. Jessica, it seems like the past five or so times I've tried to call your home phone, no one has answered.

I had two crazy coincidences happen to me recently. Two days ago, I went to Boone to get the sheet music for this really sort of obscure Baroque song I wanted to play on the piano, and then later that night, guess which song they played at the end of CSI: Miami? Bingo--Gnossienne No. 1! What were the chances of that? Also, yesterday I had some consultation about getting my wisdom teeth removed (on a side note, I found out I'm a mutant . I have five wisdom teeth. Now why couldn't it have been telepathy... ), and a few hours later, at the Community College orientation, the kid to the left of me said he had to get his wisdom teeth removed the next day. Oh, and I just remembered another one. Within the past two days, I've come across two music books with songs that are out of order. So I've had three coincidences.

Don't forget to bring your press passes next time I see you.

Yeah. Things have been really hectic around here. I'm doing a major re-vamp and expunging (if that's a word) of my room, so I've probably been listening to my iPod cleaning when you've called. Guess what! Caleb's starting a business!!!!! It was all sort of an accident really. Stephanie's boyfriend from Hawaii was going to be here last Wed. to this past Wed. and she wanted us to do a double date. We all got along so well, (his name's Ben, btw) that we decided to meet up again the next day before Caleb went back home. On a side note: This guy works at a five-star restaurant in Hawaii and has been a waiter for Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, The Fray, and a bunch of other stars that I can't remember. A meal there will cost you about $800. So, yeah...he's like, wealthy. Anyways, I had brought my pictures from this past prom to show Stephanie. Ben thought that Caleb's kilt was really awesome and Caleb was just casually like, "I can make you one if you'd like." And Ben just jumped all over it. Him and his buddies hve this week-long hang-out thing that they do each year and he wanted Caleb to make him 6 kilts for it!! Caleb told him he'd do it for 10$ each if he'd buy the materials and Ben refused and said he'd pay him 300$! He also says that when his other friends see them, they're all going to want one, and they'd pay about a hundred bucks a piece for them. He needed the kilts by Fri. and the day he "ordered" them was Tuesday, hence all the hectic-ness. He's been working like crazy. Since then, we've came up with all sorts of other neat ideas for odd kilts. And get this, Ben pre-paid him 100$ for anything else he would need, plus to use for shipping. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!! Whew! Talk about a long post. -

And by the by, that's really neat about your teeth and all those crazy coincidences. You should keep your teeth too. I got mine out either my Fre. or Soph. year and kept them. It's pretty neat to see how the roots were developing and stuff. And don't worry about it, it's not too bad (pain-wise). -

Is it bad that I find this humorous? Gah, hes so predictable. I really do wish he'd just let go.

Anywho, yeah, I guess just contact him and get it over with. We all know he won't quit by subtle hints or by being ignored.

Sorry you've been dragged into this...

See ya later,

Don't you mean "suspisions?"

Anyway, we went to the lake today, and, as usual, Donnie went on a clay mining expedition and came up with like a ton of it, so I used some to paint facial hair onto Haley. Long story short: she became a spitting image of Collin Farrell! Don't believe me, just check your inbox. I regret that I was not able to make their skin tones match.

I'm almost tempted to take a picture of myself doing the Scarecrow face and do the same thing to it, except with Cillian Murphy's picture.

Man, Calculus, which is actually Precalculus as it turns out, is so great! So far it's been so easy, and we have a really nice, not intimidating teacher who's really funny, doesn't assign a lot of homework, and knows how to relate to us. Also, you should see my textbook. It's pink and black with this giant hot pink chili pepper on it and little swirly designs and a blue flower. Wait--I guess I already told both of you that. Whatever. My only problem is that I won't get to take the AP Calculus BC Exam. Eh, oh well.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

Why wont you get to take it?

The funniest thing happened tonight!

About a year ago, I was going to eat some baby carrots and my dad told me that he was reading online or had somehow found out that baby carrots aren't really baby carrots. The carrot company just wanted us to believe that they are baby carrots, but they aren't really. They're actually real, full-grown carrots, that were just processed into a kind of carrot paste and forced into these little molds that were baby carrot shaped.

...I believed him... I even said "But, they are all different sizes, Dad." He was said, "Yeah, thats just to make it believable."

Tonight him and mom and I were watching Unwrapped and they were about to show how baby carrots were grown and stuff like that. I got all excited and was like, "They're gonna tell us that they grow them, but dad, you told me that they really just form them!" He just kinda smiled and I went back to eating my nachos waiting for the commercial to go off. Mom was like, "Umm, how do you FORM baby carrots, Leah?" and I explained the process to her. She just looked at me like I was REALLY stupid and I was like, "DAD!!! You LIED to me?!??"

Gah, it was the funniest thing. I can't believe I believed him! Or that he kept a straight face. And if I hadn't watched that, I really would've gone the rest of my life believing that the carrot companies were just tricking us and lying to us the whole time. ...And whats worse is that I had told people this theory, totally believing it.

wow. haha. Sometimes I wonder about myself.

reply

I'm really tired, so I'm not typing much, but, WOW!!!!!! As in, Wahow... (you know, like how Adam says it when it's something really off-the-wall). Maybe we can do something this Fri. Caleb will be here, but I'm not doing anything (so far). The next Friday Mom has off and I guess you guys will have already started school, huh? Ah well...ttyl! -

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Where is everybody? -

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Well, I got my wisdom teeth taken out today. It really wasn't bad. I was afraid the partial anesthesia would make me all loopy, but I managed to stay in control. The swelling is virtually indiscernable now, but it's supposedly gonna get progressively worse over the next thirty-six hours. Other than that, the only problem is that the sutures in the top right corner of my mouth are starting to come undone.

What do you guys want to do tomorrow? I may have to bail out, but I'm certainly going to try to make it if anyone has an idea of what to do. Rescue Dawn with Christian Bale is finally playing in Winston at the Grand!! Oh my gosh, I've been sooo wanting to see that, but Mom would have to drive us since she's the only one who knows how to get there. Leah, I know it's not exactly your kind of movie, but I think the characters would be lovable, and it's based on a true story. Plus, it's at the Grand! Depending on what Mom says, though, we may have to see it on the weekend. Would that be okay with you guys, or do you want to do something else?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

After work tomorrow (getting off at 2ish) I was going to go look at a potential car (yes! a car! and this might be 'the one') but I'll probably be free by, I dunno, 6ish? West plays Central at Central on Fri, but I know you guys probably don't wanna go to a football game, huh?

I think I'd probably see any movie at the Grand. Unless it was a scary movie. I don't like horror movies. lol, but thats pretty random.

Anything is fine with me.

Jessica, what are your thoughts/obligations?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I'd most definitly be fine with it! A Christian Bale movie with you guys? AWESOME!! *ceases huge fangirl moment* Anyways, Caleb is here this weekend, but he can hang out with Adam if that'd be better (more of a girls night out, or no? I might feel more comfortable drooling of Christian Bale if he wasn't there, actually ;-)). 6ish sounds good to me, seeing as how my Success and Study Skills class is having some sort of lunch I feel obligated to attend. I'll check with the powers that be to be sure, but I think it's a go! I also have a lot to tell you guys about college, vacation, and everything else. Were we thinking of dinner too? I won't let college get in the way of us hanging out and having fun! -

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Eh, well, you're right about the football game. As for the movie, Saturday or Sunday might be better. However someone might have to follow Mom there because Dad might actually end up coming. Of course that might not happen, but let me know if this is too much of a problem.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Saturday sounds cool.

Oh, Janie, has Parker told you his suspicions (sp?) yet?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Jess, is Saturday okay for you (and if we went on Saturday, it'd most likely be before six. We wouldn't get back as late that way or have to pay full price for the movie--of course, Jessica, you and I wouldn't have to pay full price anyway if bring our Student ID's!)?

Guess what, Jessica Adams signed up for Calculus and started taking it yesterday. She hasn't even had Precalculus, but then again it is crazy easy. We've got a quiz on solving equations today. Like quadratic and rational equations--Algebra stuff! The other day the teacher almost hinted at some calulus, but then she stopped.

Parker replied to my email, but he didn't mention his suspicions. He basically said "Oh no, it wasn't that!" because I had told him maybe you were acting "funny" around him because you thought he was still pursuing you. Oh, well.

P.S. I do not look like a chipmunk.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Hmmm....I'll have to make sure. I hate to say it but, any day that Mom has off work is probably a no. We can always pray for rain! It should be fine to follow you guys up there if needed. Sorry for my behavior in that last post. I'm not really a fangirl, I just haven't been in contact with any sane people since the last time I saw you guys (not counting Caleb). Oh yeah! I think Raegan has dumped me as a friend. We have one class together and she makes absolutely no attempt to find me during breaks or lunch or anything. I asked her where she ate lunches (they're all at 12:15 to 1:15), and she was just like, "Oh...I usually eat at the studio." (her Mom's new photography studio). *sigh* I really don't have any friends there. All the nerdy people I could hang out with went to good colleges I guess. I hope we get to see each other a lot!!! -

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Just so you know, if you guys call me and no one picks up the phone, please leave a message because someone might actually be at home.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Leah and I agree that it's not right for that INFERNAL shed to keep you from seeing your friends at all save three times the entire summer. I realize there's not much you can do about it, but it really is a problem. After being denied permission to go somewhere with your friends over, and over, and OVER, don't you think you (and your friends, who miss you) deserve a break? The last time we did anything with you was Tiffany's Place, and that was what--two months ago??! I'm not mad at you, but I think it's about time you were allowed to do something with your friends.

And for the record, it turns out that you wouldn't have to follow us. We have enough seatbelts. Good luck, but let me know soon what the deal is.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

NEWSFLASH: Well, I guess I'm a genius because I checked to see when Rescue Dawn was playing on Thursday instead of Friday, and apparently it's not even playing anymore. I'll probably be calling you guys to suggest alternate plans, so please answer your phones.

EDIT: I hate to say it guys, but Leah, with you working till three and Jessica, with you being beyond contact, I'm sort of doubting that we'll be able to do anything today. If either one of you calls me, call Mom's cell phone. Here's a code for the number if you can't remember it.

Prefix:

First digit: The number of AV-engers who graduated.
Second digit: The number of the total AV-engers last year, not counting William twice.
Third digit: The number of the period in which we had PJ class.

Last four digits:

Fourth digit: The number of AV-engers shirts we made.
Fifth digit: The number of female AV-engers with seven letters in their superhero names.
Sixth digit: The number of AV-engers whose main color is white.
Seventh digit: The number of pink AV-engers shirts we made.

Hope that's clear enough.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

I couldn't decipher the code properly but I'm allowed to go where ever we're going. You guys *sighs* I'm sorry! It's not my fault, and it's not really my Mom's fault either. It's just been busy this year. I'm going to try a different number. -

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Leah, guess what! You and I are in the same homeroom. On the little homeroom poster chart thingy, the range of names for that homeroom (I can't remember the number) was your name through my name. Isn't that cool? Unfortunately, though, on the schedule, it says PJ class is in the English room. I hope that's not true.

Have you seen the inside of the school yet? There's a huge gaping void in the middle where the courtyard, math, english, and science halls used to be. It's so weird. The cafeteria is really weird, too. I'm glad we have footage of the old school because it's really hard to picture it when you're standing in the new buildings. When we left the school, we went to the rubble pile and each took a piece of the old school. I got an inner hall piece.

Oh my gosh. Today, while the tennis team was waiting to see whether or not we would play, Rebecca mentioned that she wished she had Mrs. Cooper there to help her with her Advanced Models and Functions homework, and Anyssa, this freshman, was like, "I could probably help you."
Rebecca was like, "What math are you in?" and Anyssa said, "Pre-Algebra, but my IQ is like 200, so I could probably help you."
I was like, "200?" and she said, "Yeah, I'm like a genius, but I just don't like doing all the hard stuff." I told her that genius level IQ was 140 (and above), and that 200 stretched credibility, but get this--she took a scientifical test! I said, "Scientifical?"
She was like, "Yeah, I say that when I don't want to use stupid words," and I said, "That's not a word." I can't remember what she said after that, but Rebecca and I thought the whole situation was pretty comical.

Welcome back! Hey, I was wondering...I can't get showtimes yet, but assuming we go see 3:10 to Yuma this weekend, would you guys be interested in dressing up for it? I mean, it's not exactly a much-anticipated blockbuster, but if you guys would want to, I do like my western costumes. I really don't know if I'd want to or not, but just let me know your thoughts.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

WOW!! I'm not sure what happened guys. I responded to page 11 as though nobody had been on here for days and there wasn't a page 12!! That was weird. I just thought nobody had been on here for that long!! Yeah, I did go to Hillsville. When you said to keep you posted HT, did you mean about going to Hillsville? Because if you did, I'm sorry that I didn't. Caleb asked me if I had talked to you and I looked at him quizzically until he explained that he thought you wanted to go to Hillsville. There wasn't much there this year anyway, and absolutly NO sword dealers. Leah, I heard about the coffee incident (hardy har har) and it sounds funny and stressful at the same time. I'd like to come there (the school) afterschool one day if you guys could stay awhile and whatnot. Where would I have to park? And what day would be best?
The idea of going to see 3:10 to Yuma dressed up sounds pretty cool. Are there any female characters to base costumes from? I'd give me a chance to get together a costume for whenever it is we can all go to Tweetsie anyway.

Because I thought I hadn't heard from you guys in so long, I was feeling very lonely. I told Caleb I was afraid we were falling out of touch and wouldn't hang out much since we're not at the same school : (. I really really miss you guys too *cries*. -

Well HT, I've been trying to translate what you wrote on my card and there's one word I'm having trouble finding. So far I've got: I merry to (or with, by, towards, for) thee in (or of) BLANK sing. What I have for the blank is nostor, though I could be wrong about that as well. I've had to use your code sheet, my languages book, and the internet to try and figure the rest of it out. Am I even close? -

P.S. Let's go bowling again sometime.

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Yep. You're really close. Nostor is the right word, and "lin" doesn't necessarily mean sing. And "Im" can mean I am, not just I. Also, "ned" can mean on, I think.

WOOHOO!!!!!!

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Since I'm going to the RenFaire twice this year, once with school, and once with you and Caleb and company, I think I'm gonna wear two different outfits. Oh! By the way, I got voted Most Intelligent . Anyway, both dresses have an empire waist, but, well you'll see the white one, so I'll just describe the purple one. I made it out of a purple formal dress I got from Goodwill and this gorgeous shirt I got at Marshall's. I'm gonna have to wear it (the shirt) for you some time; I just love it. So the shirt makes up the bust and the sleeves, and then there's a thick sash the same color as the skirt to cover the rest of the shirt, and of course below that, it's just the skirt of the dress. I also have a cream color cord tied around my waist where the wide sash meets the skirt. I'll try to get a picture for you.

Hmm...the Renaissance Festival's website says that with some kind of coupon, you can get two adult tickets for twenty dollars total on opening weekend...

Yeah, so my family's probably going on opening weekend. Jessica, could you and Caleb try and shoot for that?

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Well, Caleb said he's definatly not going, so maybe me and Leah could share a ticket deal? He said his costume wasn't even close to being done (he's got the vest finshed, but he's still got the coat, pants, and shield to go. He said I could go with you guys though. I won't have my costume I'd like to wear done by then probably, but I can put together something, I'm sure. -

"There are dinner jackets and dinner jackets. This is the latter."

reply

Scratch that. I talked to Mom, and that's the same weekend we'd been planning a Yard Sale and my cousins from Georgia were supposed to come. An it's Apple Festival weekend (not that I go). Hmm...Maybe I can drive and we can go up there as a group. Like, you, me, Caleb, Leah, and whoever. I might go twice anyway. Once we can all go, and once with Caleb and Adam. I hate that I can't go next weekend though. That's a really good price and I'd love to go. -
