The redhead girl, REALLY unrealistic.

So she got passed over for Yale in favor of snobby rich kids who rely on their parents and trust funds to get into the Ivy League...it could happen, but if she apparently worked to get into the school since the first grade and thought she had a chance at Yale, she obviously had a great scholar record, so the big question is why the F-CK would she have to go to a fake college? There are such schools as NYU or USC, you know, really great universities that would be glad to take a straight A student. Why the crap would she of all people, have to resort to going to South Harmon?

PurplePanther does have a point tho. then again so do you Bob. she didnt apply anywhere else, but she could have applied late to other colleges.

Personally, I like to think that she was just tired from it all. I worked my ass off to get into a good university from first grade also, and something similar to what happened to her, happened to me. It's a drag, it brings you down far.

I found this troubling as well...I understand that Yale was Rory's first and only choice, but I'm pretty sure IRL that when Rory's parents leanred she didn't get into Yale, they would have MADE her apply to other schools and anyone aiming to get into Yale or even being considered for Yale shouldn't have had any preoblem being accepted at another school. I understand she only wanted to go to Yale, but, realistically, when Yale tanked, her parents would have made her apply to other schools and she would have been accepted somewhere.

she would have been able to get into many other schools if she applied but as anothe rposter said and what I also got out of her actions was that she was tired of doing everything by the book. She was used to living by plans and she didn't want that anymore. Going to a "fake" school was her way of getting away from what her life had been.

What a g'wan yawdie?

Personally I like to think of this as a parody of Gilmore Girls. Rory Gilmore is A LOT like this girl, but she got into all her schools. So maybe it's just using the same idea, but switching it around?

SUSAN/CASPIAN ALLIANCE
Will Scarlett has stolen my heart.

i am only halfway through the movie. So have not seen the ending yet but I don't understand why she can't just can't apply in a bunch of colleges for the next semester..

if you start college now or start in 6 months time. it's not a big deal. you just start 6 months later and graduate 6 months later than the friends you went to high school with. I mean i don't see what the big deal in doing that is. She can easily either get a job in the meantime and save alot of cash while she waits for 6 months or she can do what alot of kids nowdays are doing which is taking a Gap Year. ** for those of you who don't know a gap year is 6 or 12 months break between high school and college mostly for traveling**
