THE ANTI-SEMETISM BIT?

when Justin Long's character goes into the frat house to look for his friend, why does he say to the jock something about alot of anti-semetism and how it's all under the rug??????

reply

I think it has to do with the red, white and black curtains that hang outside the house and vaguely look like swastikas.

ok-gonna see that bit again.

thanks.

reply

That, and the fact that there were so many blonde, blue eyed dudes in the house at the time.

reply

That alone would make me want to sign up! (though I'm a girl). Hollywood likes to take jabs on blonde blue-eyed people (I'm not either).

When I heard the anti-semitism bit I went: Douche jealous loser.

reply

it probably more has to do with the reputation that most frats and sororities have for being exclusive and turning away Jews, blacks, etc, anyone who's not a WASP basically. Yes, I know they're not all like that...

reply

I thought there was no excuse for the Justin Long character to act as he did toward Ambrose. Ambrose was being perfectly polite and, because he was so courteous, the Long character just mocked him. The Long character was a jerk.

That way I saw ti was that they were all more shocked at Sherman's high pitched scream.

And I am gonna have to watch it again . I missed the part with the body in the straight jacket.

reply

Are you kidding? Ambrose was a total douchebag. Typical frat-boy bro whose overinflated ego is just a way to compensate for a total lack of self-confidence.

reply

hmm thank goodness for jewish fraternities!

Alpha Epsilon Pi represent! :)

reply

i'm a wasp who rushed a predominantly jewish fraternity (SAM), and this joke hit me on a totally different level.

reply

I kinda agree with the person who said that Long was being a jerk. Ambrose was being perfectly courteous. however, I believe that was only because he thought that Long was a new member. If he knew who Long really was then he wouldnt have been courteous. Plus Longs insults are just hilarious

The wicked of the world will look up and cry "SAVE US!"...and I will whisper "No."

one didn't need to know Ambrose on an intimate level to see that he and his buddies were a bunch of spoiled rich bigoted blue-bloods with Nazi-haircuts.

Isn't that the same thing as the frat guys making judgments about others without getting to know them?
