why did justin long call Hoyt, 'Trent'?

i know van winkle was in friday the 13th and transformers and his character was named trent in both movies, and who happens to be the same jock type character each time. but accepted was filmed before those movies. concidence?

I think he called him that because its a snobby sounding name and that Hoyt is so irrelevant to him that he doesn't care what his actual name is.
