'Situation' or 'Look'

What do you think is better? I've seen both but it's really hard to tell...I'm just gonna say Mitchell and Webb Look for the hell of it :D

That Mitchell And Webb Look - 01 [+1]
The Mitchell And Webb Situation - 00

Its close but i would say "look" it better. It has a much bigger budget so the jokes and be more elaborate. Both are great though, these two are the funniest people around

I'm going to go against the grain and say Situation. The jokes weren't as elaborate, but they more than made up for it with CRAFT.

The writers/inventors? Genius. I've never seen anything like them anywhere else. Just amazing.

I prefer "look" because I just think it's funnier than "situation". It didn't really find "situation" that funny, but there were some good bits. Could have done with a laugh track....some people aren't gonna like that last sentence, are they???

i think 'situation' is far better - much more consistent and not relying on catchphrases AT ALL, and with virtually no recurring characters. 'look' is very very good, don't get me wrong, but budget isn't everything (some of the 'elaborate' set ups on 'look' really detract from the comedy and make it far too convoluted - sir digby chicken caesar is simply not funny) and i think the writing on 'situation' is far sharper.

both have genius frothing from beneath their bowlers though.

"yes, those were good weren't they"

"but it's all fine? i mean, you've got a sign"

A lot of comedy needs a laugh track to make audiences laugh, but for me Mitchell and Webb aren't part of that group; therefore I prefer the Situation based on this superficial fact. Also, recurring characters annoy me in sketch comedy, though the various spin offs in that Look such as the history of Numberwang were very funny.

I couldn't watch 1 single episode of 'Look' to the end. First of all, I cannot stand laugh track. In some shows, it's fine, adding some atmosphere to the show and all. But it was not good and particularly bad in 'Look'. It felt to me a desperate attempt to be cheap and cheesy mainstream show with laugh track added.

Second, humor in 'Situation' was more subtle and sharper. I cannot really compare and contrast because I did not watch 1 single episode of 'Look', but I think it's not worth it. Summoning angels was funny and Numberwang joke was good, but it was too sit-com like and just being deliberately ridiculous. Not my cuppa tea.
