So why frame Martin Darius for murder??

If the goal of samantha reardon was to inject Darius with that drug that paralyzes him and puts him in pain forever, then why try to frame him and get him thrown in prison where he would be inaccessible to her.?? She should have just stalked him until she saw him in an unguarded moment and injected him.

Her plan was to frame him and put him away for life. The injection was her backup pan when it became obvious the case against him was coming apart and he would probably walk.

In the book she had a much more devious plan.
