beware 'BOGUS' reviews

Almost all the "reviews" here on IMDb are glowing reviews, written by users who have exactly ONE review. It could be possible, that they are sincere. But most likely they are all dishonest reviews written by friends of the filmmakers to try to generate interest.

The only honest review calls this movie a complete waste of time. I believe that review.

Way to be cynical there, TxMike. First off, no one cares what you think prior to seeing the film. No one. See the movie, form an opinion (if you can) and let us know what you think. Saying how it looks, to you (without the benefit of having seen it), carries absolutely no weight whatsoever.
Secondly, this movie, though not for everyone, was highly enjoyable to me and I see several hundred movies a year (both in the theaters and at home via NetFlix). Yes, it was a slow moving adventure. Yes, the pace could have been stepped up a bit, but this was one of those movies you have to let flow over you; you cannot rush it. There were a lot of loose ends, perhaps, but the ride was a nice one, akin to a Sunday drive in the country. The performances never seemed forced and the little girl was very believable. Plot-wise, there was plenty for the audience to ponder, to internalize, to infer. If you like that sort of movie experience, then feel free to queue it up, otherwise avoid it altogether. It's your choice.

Yes, I agree! I just counted 14 out of 17 being utter garbage reviews. The 14 are glowing reviews with users that only signed up to post the ONE review - no other activity before or since. Some similar reviews were even posted on the same day.

DUH. I guess they didn't think people would check these things.

When I see this kind of blatant manipulation to get us to watch a film, I totally lose confidence in the film - beforehand (take note, user dunbar7). If it's a good film, it will stand on its own. Fake reviews are unethical and offensive to many.

Ps. I did notice that of the three reviews that seemed authentic, two thought it was a lousy film, and the third thought it was above average. Those were the only reviews by people that had/have active accounts.

So if we calculate the two 1-stars and the one 7-star and take the average...we get a rating of 3 stars.

That's probably a more fair assessment of the film. At least, that's how it looks when people decide to populate a film page with bogus reviews. It usually backfires. This type of review manipulation is a sensitive subject on IMDB. If someone is thinking of doing it to their own film,

don't......do......it.

Let your hard work stand on its own two confident feet! :)
