The song Hallelujah was about King David, at least part of it.

Here's the words to the song "Hallelujah":

Hallelujah

by Leonard Cohen.

Now I’ve {G} heard there was a {Em} secret chord
That {G} David played, and it {Em} pleased the Lord
But {C} you don’t really {D} care for music, {G} do ya? {D}
It {G} goes like this: the {C} fourth, the {D} fifth
The {Em} minor fall, the {C} major {D} lift
The {D} baffled king composing Halle{Em}lujah

Halle{C}lujah, Halle{Em}lujah, Halle{C}lujah, Halle{G}lu{D}u{G}jah

Your {G} faith was strong but you {Em} needed proof
You {G} saw her bathing {Em} on the roof
Her {C} beauty and the {D} moonlight over{G}threw ya {D}
She {G} tied you to a {C} kitchen {D} chair
She {Em} broke your throne, and she {C} cut your {D} hair
And {D} from your lips she drew the Halle{Em}lujah

Halle{C}lujah, Halle{Em}lujah, Halle{C}lujah, Halle{G}lu{D}u{G}jah

You {G} say I took the {Em} name in vain
{G} I don’t even {Em} know the name
But {C} if I did, well {D} really, what’s it {G} to ya? {D}
There’s a {G} blaze of light in {C} every {D} word
It {Em} doesn’t matter {C} which you {D} heard
The {D} holy or the broken Halle{Em}lujah

Halle{C}lujah, Halle{Em}lujah, Halle{C}lujah, Halle{G}lu{D}u{G}jah

I {G} did my best, it {Em} wasn’t much
I {G} couldn’t feel, so I {Em} tried to touch
I’ve {C} told the truth, I {D} didn’t come to {G} fool ya {D}
{G} And even though it {C} all went {D} wrong
I’ll {Em} stand before the {C} Lord of {D} Song
With {D} nothing on my tongue but Halle{Em}lujah

Halle{C}lujah, Halle{Em}lujah, Halle{C}lujah, Halle{G}lu{D}u{G}jah…
King David was a song writer and musician. He wrote a lot of the songs collected in the book of Psalms. Also, he first saw Bathsheba, who he later married, on a roof -- the lyrics are right out of the Old Testament.

Here's a verse from the Bible where David first saw Bathsheba:
2 Sam 11:2-3

2 One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, 3 and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, "Isn't this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite?" (NIV)
Here's a verse about David singing songs to the Lord:
2 Sam 22:1

David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.(NIV)
This song is, at least in part, about King David.

I swear to god if I had to hear that *beep* song again one more time sung by that one guy I was gonna *beep* shoot myself. P.S. your little xevolutionist site is complete *beep* It gives no proof about your theory besides some book said it and thats all the church ever teahes, it was written down at one time or another so it must be true.

You commented on my beliefs. There is no proof that life began by a process of time and chance. That is a widely held belief, but it has no proof. Many who do not believe it have written about why they do not believe. Most of the books on my list are by scientists.

Here's a online book by fifty different scientists:

I used to believe the same as you do. I thought creationists were stupid. I do not mind that you think that about me.

Interesting post, but did you like the movie? I not sure this film has all that much to do with that song or with the Bible for that matter. I feel it was more about personel faith ( not religion ) and that you don't need be religious to enjoy this film. Although maybe it helps. I donno.

Whatever scientists wrote those books that you are claiming about probabaly arent very good scientists because there is no real scientific evidence of what they claim

The books quote extensively from peer reviewed scientific journals. It is not their opinions, they are citing facts for what they are claiming.

I understand that you don't believe me. I thought people like me were stupid for many years. I understand that many people think I'm stupid, now. But, later on, many will change their mind like I did when I looked at the evidence for what I believed. I was very surprised that much of what I had been taught was not supported by evidence, it was just assumed because the alternative is unthinkable.

Thank you for looking at my list of books.

Nine years ago I thought creationists were stupid just like you do. I understand what I look like to you. I did not believe that any actual scientists believed in creation either. But, the thing is that the people who believe in creation have very good reasons to believe it.

Rather me try to tell you these things I'm posting a link to an entire book that you can read for free if you want. Each chapter is by a different scientist and the credentials are in the book. Each scientist talks about the evidence that is in their field of science that has no explanation in the physical world.

FIFTY WHOLE SCIENTISTS? That's almost .0000008% of all scientists! That "creation" thing must have some SERIOUS cred.

I know this post is ancient, but I can't resist mocking stupidity of your magnitude.

I'm sorry you misunderstood. I am recommending a book with fifty different authors.

When I first heard Hallelujah on the soundtrack, I thought I must have first heard that in church.

But, no, it suddenly dawned on me that it was done by Canada's gift to the world, Leonard Cohen! Perfect.
