The part right after the Lake Scene *spoilers*

The small part back at the dorms right after the lake scene, Freidrich jumps off his own bed and opens Albrecht's locker in rage and tears for what happened earlier, however, he looked like he was trying to find something at first, when he was going through his bed and opening his books. Do you think Freidrich was trying to find a letter or something left behind by Albrecht prior to his death? It seemed like he was, and then couldn't find anything and started to throw his belongings all over the place.

Note: I don't care if they were gay [which doesn't exactly coincide with the scene earlier in the film since where they were peeping at one of the maid's undressing] or what, if they were, that's cool, otherwise I thought they were really close friends.
