I dont get why people didnt like this movie

Its Pg-13 so what did you expect? I thought it was good, I had no idea that the whole group of friends was in on it

I thought it was clear they were in on it, considering they played an active role in trying to scare one another.

The film was received well but wasn't a 'box-office' smash.

Because some people are critical and cynical as a lifestyle, lol. Everyone but me in my immediate family is that way. This was a great movie with suspense, good charecterisations and a good atmosphere. I'm pretty sure there is an R-rated version of this movie, btw. Or maybe I'm just thinking of the unrated version, which I have on DVD.

Probably because it was advertised as a straightforward slasher movie and that's what a few people were expecting. But instead it's more of a murder mystery and we spend the whole film wondering if someone has even been killed at all
