So underrated

I love this movie. I've seen TONS of horror/thrillers, and this one is definitely one of the most fresh and original, with a great ending. Shame that it isn't more well known.

Agree, it is obviously flawed at some point the pacing is too slow and there's basically no action, way too logic to be scary but at the same time is what makes this movie good, as a horror lover i would be sort of disappointed of the lack of blood and *beep* But when thinking objectively is one of the best in the last decade of crap. Couldn't believe the low score it has should be at least at 7.1

I just voted it a 10. Tell all your friends and lovers to do the same! :-D

Exactly what I thought after watching it... I think at least it should be up in the high 6's.
I think it's because it seems like a teen slasher at first look but actually it's a psychological thriller which can be a little slow for most people nowadays (especially those who only watch teen slashers)...
Honestly, it was an okay movie until the ending which totally threw me but wasn't to illogical and even then the ending wasn't definite and could also be open to interpretation which is what I like, to some degree...

I love it too!! Extremely underrated and I'm upset that it didn't do well at the box-office too. I think word of mouth ruined it since it was advertised as a slasher/horror flick for teens when it really wasn't that at all.

It didn't do so well at the box office and isn't well known b/c it's stupid! How the heck is anyone going to believe these plans would just fall into place so nicely. And what college students are going to continue to push their luck by continuing to play their silly game after police and school administrators have warned them?

I find that even the most intelligent and well crafted movies are ultimately unbelievable, that for various reasons and neglected considerations, the actual events transpired could not be fully plausible in a real-world scenario - THAT's NOT THE POINT!

That if you take the setting, characters and suspend disbelief enough to accept the "reality of the world presented" - i.e., a school in which parents don't pull their children out when pupils get murdered, or where no attempt to impose curfews etc. and, of course, the board kids have nothing else to do with their lives than play pranks and mindgames with the small group of friends their entire lives revolve around - Then, you are ready to experience and enjoy the movie for all it's true virtues and plus points.

I really enjoyed this movie. It did have more to think about and was much more complex than the usual 'slasher' type. There was a tendency to focus on the group and neglect the larger view of the situation, but I think this helped to eluicidate the concept of how the group were 'alienated' from the rest of the school, and how the game also isolated them with their obsessions and highlighted their paranoia.

I ought to watch it again, since it's been a while now, and I'm not sure if I noticed any glaring anomalies, but maybe there were aspects that stretched the whole disbelief element too far, but I certainly didn't pick up on them first time around since I was far too engrossed on following the story as presented and I am sure as it was intended.

It was original in parts and in some ways, in its presentation of the narrative, despite drawing on many themes and concepts that are not just unoriginal but by now (to be honest, not so much in 2004) tired and cliché. Certain additions thrown in really added something unique and fresh which is always rewarding and the ending was wholly satisfying to an engrossing movie.

If only you could see what I have seen with your eyes!

i probley watched it 4 times at the theater then was suprised when i saw the dvd for only 99 cents. this is the type of horror people need to think about insted of everythiing being a "jump and gore fest" if it did bad at the box office that,s probley because some could not understand the mind games being played
