Dragons?

No....there are no dragons. I dont want to spoil what happens in the film but will say that the disaster does not involve anything "fantastical". It is a disaster movie along the lines of the day after tomorrow. Hope this helps.

I've never seen the movie, but I just finished reading the manga. Apparently, those crazy looking people had surgery on their brains to remove their small and big hippocampus. Also, in Japanese it means "the one who's descended from the dragon", which makes no sense... Unless, you look at it this way: the hippocampus looks like a dragon apparently (not the part of the brain but a hippocampus itself). Descendants of the dragon possibly, due to their figure.

Apparently, by removing the hippocampus, the part that feels the most fear, you can subside fear itself. I'm guessing the food helps also... It's the main reason why many of these nutcases couldn't remember anything. The hippocampus is closely related to memory and navigation (in the manga, one of the crazy guys ended up far from Tokyo - not sure if the same happened in the movie).
