WHY???!!!!

Why does every book need to be made into a movie? Needless to say I haven't read the book yet, it is sitting on my bookshelf. But really, is it necessarily? The book is about a thousand pages and the movie is released in 2007. That is an impossible go for me to have finished it by then if I even want to see a movie about it later. this probably doesn't make sense - but my annoyance just lies in - why does every book need to be made into a movie?
(And this isn't the only book/movie that I have thought this about - they are making a movie of the kid's book, How to Eat Fried Worms, and I think there is going to be a movie, Killing Mr. Griffin, or there was already and actually I think I saw another book I read as a child/teenager that is coming to the screen - I just think it has gotten out of hand, that's all)

it will take you a year to read one single book??????
though I agree with you that not all books needs to be filmed, however, no one will force you to see it.You do have a choice

wow, it takes you until 2007 to read 1000 pages...that's sad, that's like an average of less than 3 pages a day...how long did it take you to write that post 4 hours?

I haven't read this book, but I read Vanity Fair between the time I saw the preview and the time it came out in theaters and thats 1000 pages.

Perhaps you should read the book first before passing judgement. And it wont take you THAT long to read this book. It may look daunting but it flows easily and you find it hard to put down. I was excited that this book would be made into a movie, unless they ruin it with the wrong casting. Not EVERY book is made into a movie, your exaggerating.
