Interesting but Problematic

Well, there are several things I could say about this, some good, some bad. But the thing that is still bugging me is the ending.

Potential spoiler, blah blah blah...

What exactly was Z's last line supposed to mean? Who is the third person in his line, "All three of us."? Someone explain, and maybe I'll like this movie a little more.

I wish I could help you. I absolutely hated this film.

GIVE RACHEL WEISZ THE OSCAR!

Here, try that and see what you think.

The third person is probably the third guy in the love triangle (the guy that went with Rachel on the camping trip).

This flick was interestingly different. Reminds you that cops are people too. The guy is obsessing about his girlfriend while working on some crimes involving some real nuts. The guy seems really lonely. If I were him I would've dumped that girl (she seemed to be still in college and her own grandfather has to tell her that she's basically acting like a slut). The comment at the end about the three of us seems to imply that he's willing to share her with the other guy. Seems like he could do better, but sometimes a really good woman is hard to find.

One thing that is disturbing is the cop's partner. He seems to be a real screw up, as is evidenced by what he says he does with Mary.

In the scene where Mary is giving him a rubdown and he almost lets her get him off there is much more a sense of sadness than eroticism.
