Repetitive

I really love this show, and I can watch it over and over. But I have to admit the paintings get rather repetitive after awhile. I mean it's always a sky, some trees, some grass, and maybe a mountain and/or some water. If he really wants to change things up, he'll throw a cabin in. But really, that's all he ever does. Bob is still awesome though!

I suppose it's amazing that he gets the variety that he does using just those same elements all of the time.

I have all of the shows on DVD as well as the instructional DVDs he did. While there are some "signature" kind of paintings he did, if you watch all of the shows, he has different techniques for the same thing. For examples, his evergreens (the "Z trees") were made with the 2-inch brush, 1-inch brush, fan brush, oval brush, round brush, and even the palette knife. Some methods work better for some people than others. On the show, his goal was to teach people how to paint, which is why he did some of the same things in different ways.
