Seimei Shrine in Kyoto

A couple of years ago when this film came out, I went to Abe no Seimei's shrine in Kyoto. It is mostly all rebuilt (I think there was a fire, or perhaps war), but it was great to stand where Abe no Seimei himself once stood in the Heian period.

If you are ever in Kyoto, look up Seimei Shrine.

Oh, and I bought a Map, it is here on my wall, of old kyoto, and it has the four guardian gods of Kyoto at the four points of the compass - the same ones mentioned at the climax of the first film. Kyoto is surrounded by mountains, and gets farily little seismic activity (earth quakes). The mountains protect the city from typhoons and weather, though they make the place way too humid. The city is built exactly east to west and north to south, and all relative to the old Palace. It was awesome to re-discover Kyoto through these films. They whetted my appetite and opened up a new way for me to see this wonderful city in which I live.
