What was that interpretive dance-like scene with her mom?

I felt it was unrealistic and kinda cheesy.

I can see where your opinion comes from I think, but I don't share it exactly. Obviously the dancing was just something they had done before. But more importantly, I thought the whole duality between coming together and pulling apart was really well done and believable. Even when they were both smiling you kind of felt that nothing had really been resolved, and I was more or less just waiting for it to change again.

It's sort of the idea of someone you're angry with making you laugh, and it seems fine again for a bit, but you hadn't been able or willing yet to let go of your anger, and then it just shows again -- you probably rather want it to show again, because given that you're still angry, you don't want the other person to think it's all right again just because you cracked up in a moment of weakness, so to speak. It's sort of like that, except with slightly more profound emotions where it's not about some petty anger but whatever divide had been present between the daughter and mother, and not just cracking up momentarily over some joke but I guess the familial bond they did still have aside from their issues. Quantitatively different, but qualitatively similar enough to be recognizable. Really well done, I thought.
