One of the best storylines ever

I love GTA: San Andreas. The gameplay is decent, and there are always stuff to do beside completing the main missions. But what really makes me love San Andreas so much is the brilliant storyline. There are so many interesting characters, and the lines are delivered so damn perfectly. Basically, anyone who loves video games with good storylines should play San Andreas from start to finish. It won't dissappoint.

Agree I loved the storyline of GTA San Andreas and the characters were the best GTA 4 story was so boring compared to this one.

I don't know, GTA: San Andreas had a brill storyline, but GTA IV's was still fairly solid, however I did connect with the characters of IV more.

I connected with the San Andreas characters way more than the ones in GTA IV.
I felt there wasn't no room for fun in GTA IV. The whole game was to serious, it was really goos, but it needs more fun, Like San ANdreas

english, do you speak it!?

reply

Nah, I think it was due to the characters in IV being voiced by unknowns. In San Andreas I was just thinking, 'Oh that's Samuel L Jackson!', 'Shaun Ryder!' and 'James Woods is brill!'. Also Young Maylay has an annoying voice.

Have you played The Ballad Of Gay Tony? That's supposed to be a bit more like San Andreas.

Nah, i still dont buy Episodes from Liberty City...
I really want to play it..it looks pretty interesting..And finally a Latin main character...hahaha

No, i just found the characters from GTA IV to serious.
Niko looks like a person that doesn't like having any fun.
The only person i liked in the game was Brucie, he broght out the only fun\ in the game.

In the other hand, you have San Andreas characters.
CJ is pretty outgoing, Mike Toreno's character is fun, Catalina that crazy biatch, Ken,Maccer, and Paul are all fun. OG Loc is ridiculous but funny, all in all the characters are way funner than the GTA IV characters.

english mother f.u.k.e.r, do you speak it!?

reply

That's because Niko can't have fun, watch the cutscene to 'Buoys Ahoy' and he'll say why.

The one where Bernie/Florian go for a picnic and are attacked by Russians.

Niko was such a boring character who whines on about some bad things he did in a war we never see but you do worse things in the game. I cant really think of any characters in GTA 4 that was as great or as intersting as the ones in San Andreas.

reply

I actually liked the mysteriousness of Niko.

I suggest Yusef Amir (from BOGT) as a character you may like. Omid Djalili is awesome.

reply

WTF i dont remember that mission.....
Is it the one were he goes for a jog?
And someone hits him with a bat and i have to chase him and kill him

english, do you speak it!?

reply

No the one on the boat.

The story side of GTA IV was alot better than San Andreas imo. Everything else on SA is better though.

San Andreas was just so entertaining, perfect characters, perfect subplots, and a perfect main story. It made me feel like I was going through the longg journey with the character and everytime I beat it I get the same satisfation that I would had it really been me being a nobody, rising through the heights, my friends betraying me so that im back to square one, meeting countless amounts of interesting people, taking revenge against the guys that screwed me and after such a long time finally getting my life back.

All in all an almost perfect videogame and I say "almost" only because nothing is perfect.

I really liked the whole living in the Compton ghetto thing, I wish they would have widened that a little bit more :)

But yeah GTA 4 was all serious which is cool, doesnt mean its worse or anything, but San Andreas just had this perfectly nailed down atmosphere a game like GTA needs. Dark, sarcastic, humor and violence all combined, a "leaned back" killing game, You can really tell at some points that the people who worked on the game had a lot of fun while doing so :D

I like how San Andreas is based off of boyz n the hood and menace 2 society with a little bit of casino mixed in and it plays out as a revenge story

Best Rockstar games story is Red Dead Redemption in my opinion, then The Warriors, then Bully, then San Andreas.

I personally just find the GTA stories in general way too contrived and ridiculous, and convoluted. Particularly how CJ, as a character, is portrayed as a decent, peace loving person, or at least portrays himself in this way, y'know and he doesn't really want to hurt people except maybe rival gang members, and yet in missions it is often actually advised or even essential for him to murder fairly innocent people, from grinding up rednecks in a harvester, killing a witness, even murdering a valet just for his uniform to frame a DA. That was cold, they coulda' just had the DA bound and gagged in a cut scene? Oh yeah and murdering Mad Dogg's security just for some rhymes, and murdering his manager and an innocent woman, and later on Loc doesn't even expose CJ when CJ comes after him for doing what CJ helped him to do.

It's generally a satirical, fun, stupid joke I get that, but sometimes it's way too ridiculous for me.
