This is what I recognized:
Predator (Dreadlocks, Spine-Ripping)
Star Wars (..bad feeling about this)
Dead Alive (Lawnmower, not used)
Day of the Dead (Hands)
Evil Dead 2 (Flying Eyeballs)
Add more if you like.

I need to watch it again, I thought of a lot when I was watching, I should have written them down.
Alien (baby)
Independence Day (several but I can't think of specifics now)
Night of the Living Dead (farmhouse attack)
Signs (crop circles)
Species (mating)
Half Life 2 (flying spy balls)
how can u both have missed the line
"were gonna need a bigger boat"
when the mother ship appeared
and if u didn't know it was from JAWS

ha ha .. too funny .. i thought they said "we gonna need a bigger box" .. and was thinking of that taco bells / godzilla commercial ... but I guess you are right with the JAWS reference
heck .. there are TREK refs that the first 2 posters have not mentioned ...
I wonder if that song that plays while he is mowing down with the harvester has any significance
I've got a brand new combine harvester? No particular reference to other films I think, just a damn funny backing track for that bit.
sharesurely mortal kombat with the screaming and limb tearing? altho that culd of just been enhanced because i was playin it before i watched the film again :p
shareSee, now, I'm the kind of bloke who would get a Cricket bat due to Shaun of the Dead ... methinks a combine harvester for this film is a bit out of the question tho LOL
shareJerry Springer... The ending sequence was completely taken from that, complete with alien profanity. :)
Anubis
I thought the Cricket bat was all a bit "Shaun of the Dead"
sharethe film was made at the same time as Shaun of the Dead. The Cricket Bat use was purely co-incidental, no one at the time could have known about it.
The release of the film was delayed by the morons that run the film distribution networks and without any real money behind it it didnt get released nearley a year after Shaun of the Dead but could have got a release date sooner.
Did anyone else notice the obvious Bad Taste homage when one of the aliens ripped some other guy's head off and kicked it like a football?
shareI think the scene with the 3 farmers vs the aliens was possibly a homage to The Matrix...
shareevil dead - when they can;t get off the island. okay its no torn up bridge but it's something preventing them from escaping.
i wanna see what your inside look like
i bet your not f@*$en pretty on the inside
The Door in the Floor also reminded me of ED
sharebraindead - When she could`nt lift the "partys over" - lawnmover. Love the scene when he enters the door with that lawnmover. :D
Bloody good movie!

the scene with the three hillbillys and the aliens seemed alot like the scene in from dusk till dawn where the four remaining humans face off against four vampires. Its almost the excactly same buildup with the guns and everything.
share"Let's shoot this *beep* is a drect reference to "Ed Wood" by Tim Burton
shareAccording to Jake West they'd finished filming before Shaun Of The Dead was released, it just took a whole year to do all the CGI stuff, so the cricket bat was a novel idea.... supposedly.
There was the general reference to zombie films when Gavin's boarding up the window at the end and Foxy says that never works in zombie films.
And I thought the way the spaceship was flown by Gavin reminded me of Flight Of The Navigator, or the CBBC show Aquila.
The helmets of the aliens reminded me of something too - I've seen aliens like that in some film only the heads/helmets were like sheeps skulls with horns like the breathing tubes.... that's going to bug me now.
I think it would have been good if Emily Booth had played herself since Weird World is similar in substance/budget to some of the shows she's worked on.
Idk if it's what you're thinking of but the helmets remind me of Predator.
Those boobs are fake.
Jesus what wasn't it referencing? This shows how there is a massive difference between smart nods to the genre (Shaun of the Dead) and just throwing references willy nilly to your DvD collection.
