Pop a tape in the VCR. It's on now and will be on again at 4:30 AM (Tues June 14) during the Short Film Showcase. Check http://www.IFCtv.com to see if/when this Showcase collection will be on again.

I found it entertaining enough, but not terribly scary or original. From the opening shot all the way through, I kept thinking, "This Michael Strode is obviously a big Stephen King fan." This would fit in well with the early-'80s collection of SK-based student films I used to have (The Nightshift Collection featured Disciples of the Crow, The Woman in the Room, The Boogeyman, and a non-SK-written film).

As soon as the kid was introduced, I began mumbling, "You don't want to make me mad..." He was way too much like Billy Mumy in "The Good Life" (Twilight Zone [3.8 1961]) to surprise me, but it was executed well.

Of course, these things don't automatically shoot it down; as I said, it was entertaining and well-made, but I think one would be hard-pressed (and maybe fibbing) to say that it held great surprises or creativity.

A fine first writing-directing effort from a guy who's obviously interested in being knee-deep in The Biz anywhere he can be (so many young writers wouldn't dare take work as a gaffer) and learning anything he can. He's headed down a good road; I wish him well.

I watched this short film a long time ago and really liked it. I usually don't like anything on the IFC Short Film Showcase, but this was cool. Is there anywhere online that I could watch it again?

Well my little Droogies, what's it gonna be then, eh?

I wrote and directed this film, and would be happy to send you a copy. Just post your e-mail or regular address on this thread, and I'll be in touch.

Glad you liked it.
