Yes the accent was bad on purpose but he absolutely nailed the humor in this role

i'd rather see martin play martin rather than martin play jim carry

You think Peter's accent was bad accidentally?

Steve Martin was JUST as bad as the rest of the movie, that's the shocking bit.

When you say 'humor', what movie were you watching? That particular avenue of pleasure does not exist in THIS movie. There is no humor here, so I don't know what you think he nailed.

Also, use punctuation already!

'Humor in this role' - so you think the ROLE is the source of humor, not Steve, the character, writing, situations, etc.? This reveals that you really didn't even think there was any humor in the movie.

Steve Martin IS a comedy genius (or used to be), but in this movie, he's exactly as funny as Nurse Ratched in another movie.
