shareAre you serious???? It's a friggin kids movie, a girls one at that. Both my daughters love all of them, regardless what I may think of them.
sharelol calmn down dude...its a friggenn movie..my little cousins loved it...even my little 6 yr old boy cousin enjoyed it.
shareits not based on dolls, its based on a ballet. hence, ballet barbie.
shareMy 4 yr old daughter loves this movie. I do not love it so much. The unicorn is one of the most annoying screen presences I've ever witnessed. Something about her just grates on my nerves. But my daughter loves it and I guess that's all that matters.
sharei agree, the unicorn makes me want to kill somebody.
still, i was completely surprised at how much i love these newer barbie movies. i'm a 34-year-old dad with a 20-month-old daughter. we watch these movies all the time. the characters and plots are very well-done, the music is great.
also, i like how they're trying to change barbie's image from a role model for bimbos. in these movies, the main female characters are strong, intelligent, and they look within themselves to solve their problems instead of relying on the handsome hero to save the day. barbie has come a long way since the days when you pulled her string and she said "math is hard!"
still, that unicorn is pretty hard to stomach. my worst-hated line: "are we talking 'meet the parents' rare? 'everybody gets along' rare?" oh my god, that's just awful.

I am 17 and I like this movie, the animation is great, the music is beautiful and the voice acting is top notch- Kelsey Grammer particularly, though Odile is annoying. It isn't my favourite Barbie movie, that's Nutcracker, but for preschoolers, it is very enchanting.
