Final Season

I think Adam and Jamie should hand the baton to a new generation of Mythbusters. The ratings may have taken a hit or the stars may be tired of the schedule, but there will always be myths to bust and theories to test. They could rotate personnel so that no one person or team is overloaded. This could also result in tests that take longer to put together or results that aren't quickly discovered. Just my two cents.

In which case, they should simply have let Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara take over full time. Adam and Jamie could have then decreased or ended their appearances and commitments to the TV show as suited their personal needs or wishes.

They really need people who would start out with at least the level of skill and experience building weird, large, and complex stuff that Jamie and Adam had when they started, which might include Tory, Kari, and Grant. After 12 years they learned from their own mistakes and developed a standard operating procedure for doing things. They wrote instructions for setting up the gun-swinging rig that they re-used, kept the remote vehicle steering rig to re-use it, and had a large stockpile of stuff to work, largely courtesy of Jamie. New hosts could not learn how to do Mythbusters stuff on-the-job.

They have a show replacing Myth Busters, the name of it escapes me, but it's being promo during the commercial break.

perhaps if the ratings were still solid and Jamie and Adam wanted to leave, they may have done that. but with dwindling ratings there is no point. plus Discovery probably want to replace it with something cheaper, like youtube videos of people hurting themselves.
