Gummybear rocket fuel.....plausible?

How is this not confirmed? A rocket using gummy bears as fuel got off the ground under its own power.

Or is that not what rocket fuel does? propel a rocket using fuel?

Or is it because its not as good as the other fuel? Because its not as good it cant be used? But it was used. The myth was, can gummy bears be used as rocket fuel. And it was. It clearly was. Am i missing something?

it all depends on the parameters they set...after they eventually got around to doing a baseline control test, then they decided the gummy bear-fueled rocket had to do at least that well to be 'confirmed'...had they never done that control, I wonder if they would've called it 'confirmed'?

bottom line, I agree with you, Progeekzy, this test/ep was kind of a hot mess, doesn't seem like it was well-planned or executed, despite their excitement at the possibility of it working

I kinda felt like we were dealing with 2 different questions, and somehow that got confused. I think the original myth was, can gummy bears be used to power a rocket. And the answer to that is, yes absolutely. I think the other question is, can gummy bears be used as a alternative fuel source. No, of course it cant.

Consider also that when used as the fuel source they no longer resemble gummi bears.

They should revisit the myth next week with Gummi Worms

I don't consider it confirmed based that it was not just raw gummy bears that worked, they had to process it. That being said it also changes the nature and consistency of gummy bears, making it unrecognizable and therefore not really gummybears, but just the ingredients of it, and melted/solidified version of the base product.
