Ice Cannon / Supersonic Ping Pong Ball

Two things on the ice cannon:
1. Why not add straw or some other material of the period to strengthen the cannon?
2. In their final cannon it appeared to have a slit down one side. In fact when the cannon did bust apart it split right along this line. Were they intentionally trying to sabotage this "myth"?

Jamie and Adam's "conclusion" for the supersonic ping pong ball being lethal was ridiculous by any standard. They claimed it was "dangerous but not lethal"... Bullsh!t. The thing went 2 inches into a pigs ass and put a hole all the way through a wooden paddle!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't tell me that wouldn't put a hole in someone's head or stomach.... or pretty much anywhere else.
