We're what you call "Experts"

I love mythbusters, Jamie, Adam, and the build team, I think they are all great. But I find the most cringe worthy scene in all of MythBusters is the beginning of every episode when they warn against trying anything at home because they are "experts". In almost every episode I find at least one piece of evidence that indicates otherwise.
Most recently was the salsa jail break episode when the guys are trying to dissolve the bars with salsa. Adam gets the bright idea to use household AC current for electrolysis to help move things along. He even claims he has had years of experience working with electricity and knows how to "stay safe". Jamie also decided to use electrolysis but realizes Adam apparently doesn't know as much about electricity as he thinks because electrolysis doesn't work with AC current. He takes apart a radio to get what he calls the "DC Transformer".... THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A DC TRANSFORMER!!!!! The announcer later correctly identified it as a rectifier and I think even Jamie changed what he was calling it.
Plus Adam's setup looked really dangerous, particularly with him holding onto live wires with the ends striped off. I was waiting for him to touch them to his tongue to test for current.

Anyways, what are some of the not so "expert" things you guys have noticed?

Ah, but you're missig what they're saying. They never, EVER claim to actually BE experts. They only state, "We're what you call experts." There is a difference.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.
