Oh god.

I would only be impressed by this movie if it actually was fake.
If it isn't, it amounts to psychological torture.

Maybe the idea that something in such bad taste as that would not be 'aired' on television will let people realize that Perry isn't that naive and that not EVERYONE IN HIS LIFE has been lying to him (or at least not "letting him in on the joke") for the past 11 years.

If it wasn't just a gimmick, and the FCC cleared it, the FCC has some pretty *beep* up standards if they can 'air' something like this and then crap themselves because Janet Jackson 'accidentally' showed a breast at the superbowl.

WTF?

If you are soooooooo dense that you don't realize one of your friends is wearing a wig and make up for 11 years....and whenever he leaves the room, a phone call from the Big Man happens, I'm sorry to say, you leave yourself open to this.

Plus, think of it this way.....Didn't his "friends" end up making Perry a "star" of his own "movie", something screened and seen now by many, many people in the country? Are we not actually discussing this man on an internet movie message board? He literally said all he ever wanted was to be a movie star. He's closer to being one than ANYONE posting on this board is.

Would this have ever happened to Perry on his own?

No f-bomb-ing way.

The best comedy is dangerous and sometimes draws blood. Don't look if you can't handle it.

reply

In the movie Perry says "I would do ANYTHING to be a movie star"
He obviously gave his permission to release this movie. I am sure he is happy about it.

Just wondering though did this come out before Joe Schmo?

reply

Well, if you go to his website, it appears that he's trying to get the rights to it so he can release it on DVD. I would assume that even if he didn't know it was a joke and it really was, he would still want people to see it and he's promoting it simply because, he's the movie star. I find it funny regardless. I believe this did come out before Joe Schmo, but I could be wrong.

reply

this was WAY WAY before Joe Sho.

they have been workining on this for 10 years.

reply

i think the answer to how 'CRUEL" this was to do to perry can be answered by the fact that in his resume on line, trying to get new work in h'wood, he lists himself as the star of this movie as the very first thing

reply

It's a MOVIE not a documentary you idiots
There WAS no practical joke in REAL LIFE it's all part of the PLOT FOR A MOVIE.
You can tell just by watching it, and if you can't tell that the whole "practical joke" thing is obviously fake and that this is just entertainment then you're probably not too bright.

reply

Okay, then if Perry Caravello is such a great actor who put one over on all of us, then why doesn't he have any other credits for any other movies, TV shows, or anything????

reply

That right there is the question I've been asking out loud to myself when I read conspiracy theories about WCH. Why hasn't Perry done anything else? Then again, there is no other info about him on his profile. Could it be an alias?

I've always thought it was real and I plan on buying it tonight!

reply

No, it's just that he either didn't pursue anything else or no one else wanted him. There doesn't have to be some elaborate conspiracy to everything......he's just not a career actor, plain and simple.

reply

Amazing to me how many people just don't get this movie. It was a practical joke played on a naive guy, and it is funny to watch. Period. A brilliant concept and great movie.

reply

Maybe it's because he's not such a great actor? Before I came to this IMDB board I didn't think there existed anyone gullible enough to actually buy into the movie's bogus prank plot.

The guy played the role of a (terrible) aspiring amateur actor so well because he himself is very clearly an amateur actor. Comedy Central did a great job casting the guy.

All you need do is check out his website to see how *beep* he is.

Janet Jackson's "slip up" was in code with FFC standards....last time i checked lil kim wasent being blurred for wearing pasties....jackson clearly had pasties on and the FCC is clearly a pack of morons.

This is fake, but I'm watching it now and it still amounts to psychological torture.

reply

it really amazes me that people still don't know what the FCC does. This was on Comedy Central, the FCC has no authority over cable networks. Only networks you can get for free.

Perry is a total *beep* and just doing a small amount of research will tell you that. There's a reason EVERYONE in his life doesn't give a poop (not sure about language on these message boards). He has sued his own family so much no one, even his daughter, will talk to him.
