Why does this flick exist at all?

I've never watched this, nor will I. The cast was probably about as well chosen as it could be and I'm sure they're all fine. But why would anyone *want* this movie? The 3 Stooges are absolute gems and there's NO WAY they could ever be duplicated or surpassed, so what's the point of this? There's simply no dignity to be found here.

Then the Farrellys manage to cheapen the Stooges memory further by throwing them in with a flavor-of-the-month joke of a series like "Jersey Shore", which also dates the film.

It's actually a pretty good movie. It's honestly proof slapstick is timeless and Jersey Shore is in it for a couple of scenes because part of their schtick is riffing on pop culture. The guy who plays Moe is uncanny! You should give it a try.

Plus, reviewing the Farrelly's career, the 3 Stooges was a true influence on them, there are obvious references in Dumb and Dumber and There's Something About Mary.

You know it's honestly foolish to say you never will see it and proceed to have an opinion....

If you didn't watch the movie and will not watch it, then why are you here moaning about it?

Can you really not figure out for yourself why the movie was made? Same reason all other movies are made. To make money!!!

I am sorry the movie did mediocre at the box office.....I wanted it to be a big hit.

I like when characters are played by different actors and updated.....think James Bond, Batman, or Mr. Spock----otherwise the character dies when the actor does.

I think it's cool to have something span several generations.

Disclosure: I was born 1936. I've been housebound and not tuned into popular culture for the last five years. When rec'd this film on DVD from Netflix I found it the high point of viewing this year. It was preceded by Birdman and Theory of Everything, so it ostensibly had competition, huh? It is hilarious. I really enjoyed each of the actors mimicking Stooges, loved Jane Lynch as Mother Superior, and kept thinking Mother Mary Mengele looks sooooo much like Larry David. Best laughs in 2015. Who would have predicted?

I disliked the 3 Stoogies because of the violence, and Moe always seemed so mean spirited.

I loved the Jersey Shore.

I saw the commercials for this film and though it looked awful.

I saw this film a day ago, and really liked it. Parts of it were very funny. Loved the wordplay.

I hope they make a second film.

I wanted the Stooges to live and act again, so I wanted this movie AS LONG as it was true to the source and well done. Which it was. It was tricky tying a 1930s setting to a present day metropolis, but they made the leap. And like everybody else said, their portrayal of the actual Stooges was right on.

I think that the execution of the New Generation was perfect. At first it was rumored to be famous actors being the Stooges and I think some where disappointed thinking they went cheap. But going Cheap was the way to go. Much easier to understand this guy as Curly then say....Jim Carrey. If Sean Penn was Larry, we'd be going Sean does a nice Larry. Here we accept these guys at the Stooges. The biggest sahme is that they did not do anything after the movie came out. I guess they are talking of a second movie, but I think they could have done so much more. Why not have 3 Stooges shorts before other movies...like Pixar does with it's shorts. Like Disney did with the Roger Rabbit shorts. All this time has elapsed and I think the ball was dropped here. You got cheap guys, alll guys that would love to comeback as the Stooges and it just sits there and rots. Missed opportunities.

...............ZING!
