Top notch pilots

At the begining it is stated that 400 pilots applied for the stealth program but only the best three were accepted for the project. Are they kidding us? These three pilots were the best they could get. Why these twits were as unprofessional as one could get. Jessica Biel's character was more professional than the other two twits. Just another lame film catering to the Hip-Hop and MTV crowd.

Exctly. If these 3 were the best then our security is screw!

THANK YOU!

That's EXACTLY my thoughts on that crap-tastic, eye-rolling ridiculous Armageddon film with Bruce Willis.

Much of that film (especially all the scenes where the roughnecks are going through a crash course in astronaut training) has these imbeciles fighting to be in front of the camera.

It just seemed so ham-fisted and forced to have these guys "seem" likeable enough that the audience would care one bit whether they made it back or not.

So, the film makers try everything they can to make them interesting.

They throw in those scenes where the Feds have to round up the roughnecks so it looks like they each have these interesting side stories. -yawn-

After being briefed on their mission the roughnecks make their own wish list on what they want the government to do for them such as not paying taxes... ever, bringing back 8 track tapes, etc.

The medical staff at NASA diagnoses several roughnecks with serious psychiatriac mental/emotional disorders, but who cares right? They are totally fit and so totally reliable to go up in space and save the Earth.

And then you have to (HAVE TO) have the obligatory love/hate drama relationship going on between young guy and old guy or father and daughter, or whatever combination you need to articially create tension between people that doesn't really need to exist in this story at all. Except to create drama.

Would it really have been so horrible if these people actually, you know.. got along and acted like professionals?

But no.. that wouldn't be believable or interesting enough.

Were these guys REALLY the absolute best people in the entire oil drilling industry that could be found? Were there no moderately stable, reasonably mature and sufficiently intelligent enough personnel available anywhere else on the globe?

It just seemed that if they really wanted the very best people they might have tried sending out a call to the premier and most reputable drilling companies on the planet and request a list of their best guys.

The movie might have been a little more interesting if the team assembled were an international team of experts who still had to get along with each other AND you could have had some funny moments dealing with language/cultural differences.

That was such an opportunity squandered.

its just that you disliked the film(armageddon)...
its your opinion and your entitled to it... just like others who have liked it

reply

Uhm, you're on the wrong board, this one is for bashing "Stealth".

Light travels faster than sound,
that's why people seem bright,
until you hear them.

I wonder if the guy is on the "Armageddon" board complaining about the characters in "Stealth?"

I'm probably being sarcastic...

reply

Dude, why are you talking about Armageddon? As the guy above me pointed out, this board is for discussing the movie, "Stealth." If you were trying to draw comparisons between the way the characters are written in the two films then you really should have written about your problems with "Stealth" too. As it is, you didn't even mention it.
